I was wondering what peoples opinions were on these two items. FK2685 i was curious as to how long this stuff can typically last and if it makes the finish slick to prevent dust from sticking.FK425 i no is well known for its anti-static agents but is it a good QD?
FK425 is not the best QD when it come to cleaning power. It can take care of very light dust. It is more of a shine agent for use after washing or something, and it is great for that. It really does shine up a car really well and deepen the color a bit on darker colors. Have not used Pink-Wax but have read many good reviews on it.
Pink wax has a nice warm glow to it. The only bad thing is the smell. Smells like kerosene. Its a good wax though.
Pink wax is great but smells like hell.I replaced all my midrange price waxes(max-wax, petes 53 etc) with pink wax as it last alot longer and looks great on anything also the price is perfect.
I see 1000 says it should be used in hot climate areas. Well i live in Pittsburgh. We have humid summers and are winters are normally 20-30s.They will dip in the sigal digits at times. Well 1000 benefit me and still last longer then Pink?
I like 845 but its tough because it changes consistancy depending on the temperature. When its real humid out its very thin and i usually end up putting to much on the applicator to the point where with that amount will almost do an entire side of my car.I tried M16 this winter on my winter beat(96 Cavalier). the water is still beeding up and i put it on back in October.hmmm 1000P might be a nice buy
1000P is a nice wax, really looks like it adds a nice coat of clear to the car, nice durability, also works great on wheels because it can withstand high temps.
PW, 1000P and FK425 are all great. the only thing i do not like are the lids on the tins, they care a pain to completely close...
It doesn't matter. It will last way longer than most so called waxes. Questionable durability of FK1 #1000? - Autopia.org
1000P still smells bad. I wouldn't limit yourself on waxes based on smell. Pink wax is really nice to use. Gives usually about 3-4 months of good protection, is unbelievably easy to apply and remove and gives a crazy wet look with great flake pop to metallics and really deepens red and blacks.
is there much difference if I apply a coat of collinite 845 and then a layer of 1000Hi-temp? or a layer of Pink Wax, then a layer of 1000Hi temp? Anyone tried?
You would want your 1000P to be your base layer on this combo whether you choose PW or 845 to top. 845 while very solvent heavy is a carnauba/synthetic mix any may hinder 1000P bonding.
1000p if your looking for a long lasting protection, Pink Wax looks great lasts about 2-3 months. I like to top 1000p with Pink Wax. 425 is a great QD but not if you need it to clean more then some finger prints
1000p smells bad too, and is a harder wax, making it even harder to apply/remove...but it is sooooo durable!!!
