So with the demise of In and Out spray, I wanted to give the CG Fade 2 Black spray a shot at the replacement title.

I just started a side by side test of the two. They were both applied to a freshly washed '08 Tundra rear bumper which sits outside 100%.

Upon application, I really couldn't tell much of a difference. They both looked really good. I think the F2B applies heavier than the IaO. Other than appearance, the IaO smells great with the baby powder fragerance, while the F2B has a pure chemical smell. Not offensive, but far from good smelling. If I had to do a blind test, I really don't think I could tell a difference.

I plan on revisiting both sections after a couple weeks in the sun.

    On to the Pics:

Honestly, the both looked really nice. Excellent deep black satiny finish. I'll check back tomorrow with someone who doesn't know which side is which and see if they can tell a difference.

So, I reviewed the bumper a day later.. and had 2 people offer an opinion having no idea what was done.

Both sill looked really good. I prefered the F2B side.

Of two people who also looked at it, one preferred the F2B the other preferred the IaO.

I'll report back in a week.

I have found, through multiple uses of each of these products, that Fade2black doesnt last anywhere near as long as Adams In and Out spray does...

I have 2 cases of Adams and a case of Fade2Blcak and use them on both the engine compartment and the black plastic trim on my BMW 323i and on the engine compartment of my BMW M3.

Unfortunately it seems you can no longer get Adams In and Out, so I guess the comparison is moot, but fade2black has other problems you should be aware of, that being leaking spray valves on the cans wasting spray each time you use it, and the cans are smaller, though they are less expensive than the Adams spray was...

If I'm not mistaken Adam's announced that they will be bringing back the In & Out spray as soon as they are settled in their new HQ.

I always preferred stoners more shine to F2B, never tried the IaO as CG makes their stuff,I figured it'd be the same

This seems to be a topic of debate. We should ask adam's direct to get an answer once and for all.

Now, the way I see it is: If Adam's doesn't have the facility to produce their own products in house, they can hire someone to do it for them. Maybe they contracted Warner Chemicals to do that. Warner Chemicals also manufactures CG stuff. Does that mean they are the same? No. Just means they are produced in the same factory. I doubt they are just relabeled CG stuff. They could be very similar products, but not identical.

I am just pointing out that Warner could make their products, and still be different from CG.

I prefer the ease of use with IAO Spray, vs F2B. IAO goes on easy, and needs minimal wipe down, where as F2B is very runny and drips. Also F2B smells like gasoline where IAO smells like baby powder.

IAO is still top dog, and the next best thing we use at our shop until IAO makes a come back is Stoner's Trim Shine.

Duragloss has a really nice product like this. I use it for parts of the engine and also for the plastic molding. It may have a little more gloss than the looks of the F2B and IaO pics above. I know Sparkie uses it alot. i just purchased all the cans that Exceldetail had.

Of course Adam don't make it. I found the original maker and they are way cheaper. I have to find the link for you.

I hope someone will one day soon do a comparative review of Meguiar's new Ultimate Protectant. I've heard good reports about it, but it would be nice to see how it compares to F2B and other similar products.

I used Stoner Trim Shine to renew the exterior trim of my 97 Accord when I put it up for sale in November. It did a great job hiding the oxidation and making the trim look a lot better.
