It is about making money not about size. A small company can live off $2,500,000 in revenue...3M or Meguiars cannot.

The economy is full of people who do nothing more than act as middlemen in getting products to market and making a lot of money doing it.

Exactly. The best sellers and best product brands know and understand there will ALWAYS be competition, but as long as they keep up their customer relations and keep making top-notch stuff, they'll always make money. There's always room for high quality products and sellers of those products.
I find it hard to get on the AG forums because of the lack of respect and love for anything other than what they sell.

No doubt the Detailing Bliss community will continue to grow and prosper as it seems it sticks to its roots and original goals for a quality detailing community.

I was one of the testers for Uno. The one pad does all didn't measure up, but for David B I did not report any negative reports. Now that he's gone, Uno needs more work... a lot more work.

That's good to hear man, I know you are on Autopia for the most part, and it seems they just have a general opinion that DB only recommends expensive products which is not the case at all.

BTW, you do great work man, keep it up :thumb:

Thanks for the honest answer. It seemed like there was a huge amount of people buying HD UNO, but almost no reviews for it. I wonder if this is the case for most people, not posting negative reviews since David and 3D were so prevalent on the boards.

I noticed the one guy said look at this detail I did with it, and when I did I saw he used 3 separate steps/pads for it. Kinda defeating the purpose and name of UNO. I know the products were developed in 120 days, hopefully they improve the formula.

Is this the same 3D that sells to the dealerships? Their products are pretty poor, manufactured for cost minded customers rather than on quality. I'd be surprised if the kind of guys that post on autopia would like their products much.

HD UNO is replacing all my other polishes, it is that good. Works wonders with wool, orange pad, rotary or flex, and even with the pcxp.

The HD Poxy - while it may not be as long lasting as zaino or fk1 #1000 it looks amazing.m2c

As far as doing multiple steps? well why not? However the look after an orange pad step is so sharp and clear I usually just scratch my head.

I will be trying Poxy, just got 32oz bottle of it today. Anyone wants samples let me know haha.

Wanted to try UNO but then ended up getting M105 instead as I like Menzerna Polishes.

I love both 105/205 and menzerna. However this no dust and sharp looking finish is a winner in my book.

Thomas, your a top notch detailer in my opinion, so thats a heck of an endorsement for UNO. Ive got a bottle of UNO but have yet to try it.

I have ZERO experience with HD and their products, but I don't like the idea of discussion forums being sold.

There was a forum I frequented for one of my other hobbies and it was sold a while back. The new owner COMPLETELY changed not only the look and format of the forum but also the feel. Everybody hated it so much that all the mods quit and started a new site.

I go on vacation for one week and all this happens. This is a fast paced world :)
I enjoy going to several forums just to get a variety of opinions and knowledge. Autopia being the first one I visited. DB though, the one I like the most. Definitely hoping that Autopia does not lose the valuable information over there.

This actually went down in May...

Bottom line is Autopia is bigger than one person.... Autopia is not David B and David B is not Autopia... It is the members that make up a site...

That's what everyone thought on the discussion forum I mentioned a few posts ago. TRUST ME things changed and they changed quickly. While only one person has changed on Autopia it's the most important one. Things may change and they may not it depends on the direction the new owners decide to take.

I havent been on many detailing forums lately due to life but it sucks to come back and hear this news.

As for HD products everything I have tried so far has been top notch.

HD Free is miles ahead of any QD ive used in terms of cleaning ability/ability to do it without scratching.

HD Total is a pretty damn good APC. Its on par with OPC in that it can be used just about anywhere safely. And with the new pro version it becomes a better value.

HD Protect is a decent interior dressing. The smell was supposed to be a selling point but I actually didnt smell anything once applied. It does look good and dries to the touch though. A little goes a long way. Decent value though I wouldnt go out hunting for it

Lastly I tried UNO but havent used it enough to give a solid opinion. At the moment I still like m105/205. Even though its an extra step, they can handle just about anything and finish down great

I too got some poxy in but cant comment yet since Ive yet to try it

Anyways, good luck to DavidB and autopia

I have HD total and requested a refund. There's not enough power in it to clean my tires to my satisfaction. 3d said I should have ordered the yellow degreaser instead, thereby agreeing with me that HD Total isn't the one answer to all cleaning purposes like it claims.

I haven't tried the Waterless wash yet. I may soon.
