Swissvax Crystal Rock

Advice please!!

I'm not a professional detailer, but enjoy detailing my 4 cars, which I have listed below. I've used the products from Zaino, Adam's and Wolfgang. Currently, I'm using Wolfgang fuzion and like the results. I have read and seen the Crystal Rock and wonder if it would be worth the money for the cars I have. I have the feeling that Swissvax if for the elite automobiles like Ferrari and Lamo's. If it was you, would you purchase and use Crystal Rock for these cars? The Corvette's are garage kept and the remaining 3 are kept outside and daily drivers.

Bro if you have the money to drop on Crystal Rock and it won't affect you in anyway, I say go for it. Just make sure your vehicles are polished to perfection before you apply it. It seems 3 coats will last you quite a while.

 

Honestly, I believe the super expensive waxes like CR are mostly hype. It would take a LOT for me to buy an 8 oz container for over $1K with NO refills.

If you are in it for the long haul, go with something like Zymol Vintage. It's in the $2000 range, but you get free refills for life.

As for me, my favorites are Rubbish Boy's Original Edition, Dodo Juice Supernatural, and Lusso Oro. I have not tried Fuzion, so I can't give you a comparison between it and the ones I've listed. I have read that RBOE gives Vintage a run for it's money, and at around $80 shipped, is a heck of a deal.

Of course, everything above is my opinion only. I'm sure there are others who feel differently.

Great choice on the Swissvax waxes, but there are some that are less expensive that will still look FANTASTIC!!!

Crystal Rock is a great wax, but how about Concorso, Mystery or Insignis?

 

Id worry about learning how to get your paint 95% defect free and how to maintain it and keep it that way. The wax dosent make the car....its all in the prep.

 

If you have the money why not... but to be honest I'd spend a g on paint correction supplies first.

If I had your lineup of cars I would not doubt for a second. I have CR, Mystery, Concorso(regular and BOS) and also Insignis. If I was going to rate these ones I would say:
1. CR
2. Insignis
3. Concorso
4. Mystery

The thing that I think is so special with CR is the immediate wipe off when it looks kinda glass like You could see it get "warmer and more wet" while times past, more then any of the other above. A couple of layers and you'll be fine. Wether this is "hype" or not, I really don't care about, cause it gives me a good feeling when I put it on..

 

Has anyone used the Wolfgang Fuzion that I mentioned? It is a very good on and off wax. I do like it, but was really wondering if the price of the CR gives any additional protective properties from the $175 Fuzion. Thanks for all the replies up to now everyone.

 

I beta tested fuzion, and it to me gives the paint clarity and a nice gloss, but lacks depth. durability is about a month.

now in comparison, do i think CR is worth $1000 cause it will add that much more protections, well no. you can use Collinite 845IW wax and get more duarbility that both

Yes, I also have W Fuzion and I've used it on several cars including my own. It's smells like a really sweet chewing gum and is very easy to apply and also wiping off.
CR gives you more glow, but I think it's about the same durability as the Fuzion, about 6 months depending on weather condtions obv.

 

Are you more worried about looks or protection??

 

Wolfgang fuzion is one of my go to waxes. What a pleasure it is to work with both on and off...:thumb:

I guess I'm concerned with both. I really appreciate the depth and gloss you can get a car to have. In addition, protection is a issue to me living in New Orleans with high temps and humidity 8 months out of the year. I was just wondering if the $1K price tag gives say 20X the protection of say a Zaino and 10X the depth and gloss of a Fuzion? I know some will say that well with three coats you will not have to redo the car for 6 to 8 months, but with again 100+ degree heat and rain almost every day during the summer months, will it really stand up to that? I have no problem spending the money if I get value out of something, but if it is 10x times the cost with 2x the benefit, I would rather stick to what I have.

 

Stick with what you have. That $1000 wax is gonna look maybe 2% better than the $30 one. If that.

I recommend you try a sealant, since it will stand up to temperatures more. Blackfire Wet Diamond comes to mind, it will make your paint glossier, brighter, and more reflective. Waxes will add darkness(generally IME) and a warmth to the color. BTW, I'll be in New Orleans for vacation tomorrow! Ha I can't wait.

 

Well I've never been a big fan of Zanio. They always give a sterile look that lacks depth.

I would recommend 845IW as a base coat for protection, they maybe Swissvax Insigns, or maybe RBOE for your gloss.
