So I have been look and waiting for this truck to come out. I think it is going to be a great truck. What is every ones thoughts on it?
No one else makes a real truck like Ford does. I have had 5 ford trucks over the years and they were all great.
I know ford makes a good product but i am worried about the new in house 6.7 liter engine. But still really want to get it seeing i have and 2000 ford ranger and it is to small for my liking.
+ a zillion. I'm on my second Super Duty. First was a 2001 Excursion diesel, and now the 1999 F250 diesel. They're excellent trucks. Apart from a handful of small wear item things, and one weird defect where ULSD compromises a certain set of o-rings, I've had not one moment's trouble out of either of them. I'd buy another tomorrow. Well, one disappointment - no more manual transmission. If you want a manual trans in a 3/4- or 1-ton truck, Dodge is the only game in town right now. This according to one of the diesel magazines. I'm not sure what to think of the new 6.7. On one hand, Ford's memories of the 6.0 are painful ones, and I imagine they won't want to repeat that fiasco. On the other, there are some design points on that new engine that smell to me like a bunch of "let's be really clever" stuff. For instance, the exhaust ports are inside the valley of the motor, rather than on the outer side of each head. With the turbo being right there, that's heck of a lot of heat for other components located close by to withstand. I hope it'll prove to be a good truck. Ford's on a roll lately, and their truck line is one that they'd be really wise to not screw up.
I really am not a fan of manuals in trucks but the 2011 is going to have a select shift transmission and i am amusing that is like a tectonic transmission
From everything that I have heard about the 6.4 I have a feeling the 6.7 should be a decent motor... I am bummed that they are dropping manuals... but what can ya do...
I've been in a 6.0 and actually, I really liked it. Quiet, GREAT power, great transmission. He's never had a moment's trouble out of his, either. I'd love to have one, but the deal on this particular F250 I've got now was too good to ignore.
i saw one in person at the texas state fair......:drool: i went from an 08 f250 work truck to my 07 f150....missed the torque and the fuel economy...maybe ill convince the company to get me back into an f250 for 2011
Just went to a local dealer and they had a little show and tell and the truck should be at your local in 3 to 4 weeks. If you want to order on you can now start with your local dealerships. It lived up to my expectations when i saw and heard it. You would never know it was a diesel from the smell or the sound of the engine. The new more predominant finder flares and front grill really add to the style. Also the interior is on of the best i have seen in a truck, the new front seats are so comfortable and the new user interface is easy and vary refined. Prices have not been released unless you are going to pre-order one. The 6.7 liter is going to cost the same as the current 6.4 liter diesel but there are more options for the 2011 model so they will be able to hit you with a few extra charges. I talk to one of the sales mangers and they is no talk right now to have a Cabelas or Harley Davidson editions of the truck. The off road capabilities have been up with the addition of the locking front and back differentials.
where are all the photo's and specs? Surprised a lot of people like fords. They are ok. I dig the diesels as well as the chevy diesels as well. Hawaii has nothing but huge lifted F250's and F350's
Everybody's different. I owned one GM truck, and based on that experience, it'll be a while before I own another. I'd love to try a Duramax one day. I can't believe how whisper quiet they are. My 7.3s have both sounded like buses. Which is no surprise, since they're bus engines. :lol:
