Those with experience, which do you prefer as far as appearance and longevity?

For a Silver daily driver kept outside.

    Thanks all.

never used FMJ, but 1Z glanzwax looks pretty good on light colors and lasts a decent amount of time.

I agree with pektel. On a light coloured car, or any colour for that matter, 845 looks awesome and 2 coats done back to back will EASILY last 6 months on a car stored outside.

845 has some great durability for sure. looks great on any color, especially black. never used fmj, but glanzwax is pretty decent as well. might not last as long as 845 but pretty close I reckon.

Just by itself. Do you already have the FMJ and Glanz?

Oh, sorry. Meant preference of colonite compared to fmj and glanzwax, not layered on top of. I only have the Glanzwax for now but am so-so on it, in fairness I usually use just carnuba (SV Concorso) and my only other synthetic experience is with Zaino. I have a new silver suv for daily use and wanted some winter protection but less of the shined shrinkwrap look of synthetic waxes.

Thanks to all for the great input.

I hate to deviate from the two you mentioned, but besides 845, I'd say the 501/105 combo kept up with Aquawax looks great. This is what I used on my Silver Frost metallic paint.

I use the FMJ in my shop on occasion because it looks really great, sets up quickly and can be topped with a quality carnauba wax without diminishing the finished look. 1Z Glanzwax is great because it lasts quite a while, and looks pretty good. Personally I think the FMJ looks better on dark colored vehicles, but on a silver car you won't notice too much of a difference. The FMJ doesn't offer great longevity, but it's just about the easiest to use paint sealant ever made.
