vizio flat screen tvs...........???

im looking on buying a new tv . not to sure whats a good name to get or not . i see a lot of these vizio brands . anyone have any input on these?? thanks

 

vizio is a great brand, i think i read somewhere that vizio is under the Sony brand name. You know you cant really go wrong with sony. Samsung is also another great brand of flat screen lcd's. I hope this helps, but definately get the vizio, its not the number one selling flat screen lcd for no reason.

You are absolutely correct. Samsung actually makes the Sony screens.

 

I have one that's about 2 years old. Never had a single problem with it, picture is pretty good (not as good as some, but those differences are small), and the price is right. If you aren't a A/V freak, it's a good TV.

 

Got a 37 inch Panasonic lcd, and at least to my eyes, the picture is real nice. I like the fact that the side angle view doesn't wash out as much as some of the others. A plus also we are trying out a HD signal from Comcast, which is just incredible, especially for sports and nature scenes. Good Luck looking.

 

LG is not bad. they make a lot of LCD panels for laptops and TVs.
we always had samsung and replaced them couse they got old, not couse they broke, (we have regular tube TV, DLP and now we got their samsung year or two ago. all work great still). if im not mistaken samsung makes apple lcds

just dont get no name brand. i see a lot of those come back to my store and companies go out of business

do research before you buy the tv and dont just jump on it couse of price
check out microcenter as well, we got pretty good selection and prices are pretty good. they do have open box stuff sometimes which gona save you 10-15% off retail price. dont bother looking on their site though, they have like 6 tvs there and instore probably 30 different kinds, not sure what is up with this

you have 2 things going for you CES this week in Vegas (Consumer Electronic Show) all the new

goodies getting unveiled. The NFL playoffs start this weekend, weeks leading up to the Super

Bowl affect sale prices, trust me. You just have to stay in touch with prices and products to

benefit yourself. Having stores price match (if applicable) is a wonderful weapon =)


Back in '06 i purchased my 60 inch HD TV through best buy, took advantage of 36 month free

financing. I knew before i made my purchase one of their competitors had the same tv

several hundred dollars cheaper, but i wanted to stretch the interest free payments ;P

So after it was all said and done and i provided all my "price matching" ammo

i had reduced the price of my Sony 60 in HDTV to the price of the 50 inch version, and

interest free payments.... Just do your homework, read reviews and check out the

products @ the store.

Also, in my experience, Samsung and Panasonic are the top two in the flatscreen TV market. Panasonic's tend to run slightly cheaper than Samsung's (when I was shopping for a TV a year ago).

How about the 3d rdy tv it may be somthing to consider.

 

i wouldnt go for 3rd party honestly. i work for retail store and we have a lot of them come back with dead pixels and messed up picture. i seen at least 2 manufacturers go out of business and now you cant get parts to fix them. stay away from those unless you get it for half price so you can just through them out. if you do get it, get extended warranty so if that company does go out of business you can get replacement

i woudlnt even consider 720 anymore if you planning to watch bluray dvds or any high deff videos. 720 not worth it anymore
with new standard coming out (i think 1280p or something). id say just dont get anything more then 120HZ. i seen 240 and it looks disgusting everything looks fake. even at 120 it does but its bearable

 

fricken true that! That's what I got, 55" Samsung LED and absolutely love it! It's only 3 cm thick!!! Picture quality rocks!!! And it cost me under $2000 on black friday sale...
Thomas, seriously, go for Samsung LED, you are gonna love it! by the way, don't even bother looking at 720p, 1080p is the only way to go!

 

Vizio is good. I like Panasonic myself but they are both really good. I hear Samsung and Insegnia is good too. Insegnia is Best Buy's brand and I THINK most are made by Samsung.
