So i've been wanting to hold off wet sanding my car to fix a scratch since I am not quite sure if the PC with PowerGloss and Yellow pads will have enough power to polish out 2000grit sand paper marks. Anyone got any opinions?
Yes, it will be no problem. I've removed 1500 grit from a Jet Black BMW before with my normal PC. You just have to figure out the technique for it. I normally use orange + Power Gloss for mine though. Yellow leaves too much marring in my experience
Sanding scratches are easier to remove then you think. It's not even a matter of if you can, just how long it will take. Taking off 1,500 and 2000 are pretty much the same, it only takes a couple seconds on rotary to remove the haze then it's cutting a bit more and refining. Don't be scared of it.
Just don't get stupid with your wet sanding... a hard backing on the paper helps avoid putting deep finger marks in... light pressure!
It should remove it, if you can get some 3000 grit it will make it even easier to remove the scratches. SIP and orange pad can remove 3000 grit pretty easily with a DA.
well it does more couse its powergloss. maybe try SIP with 2 passes. i did wetsanding then powergloss and then 203 and works fine
Using a PC to wet-sand 1500 >2000> 3000 grit 3M Perfect-It Trizact speed 3 -4 .Remove sanding scratches with a suitable finishing polish
