I've not used the CG product, but 303 Fabric Guard works REALLY well. Water literally beads up on carpet protected by 303. Plus, it has Sunbrella UV protection built in.

what is the process in regards to using the 303 fabric guard? how well does it protect from dirt? sounds like i could use this on my floor mats.

Ya as a student hoping in and out of the car, it seems like the dirt will penetrate much less making it easier to maintain, especially during the rainy seasons

The purpose of any Scotchguard type of product is not to stop staining etc, but merely to help suspend any spills above the fabric long enough for you to wipe them up. As for floormats, any dirt you track in will still have to be cleaned up regularly. 303 is excellent for boat covers etc because of the UV protection as well.

I used it (303) on my daughter's mattress when we were toilet training her for over-night. It is great stuff.
