VOLVO V50 2009 mod This is the car of a good colleague of mine. The car is a 1.6 diesel with paintcode 452 which is the same as I have on my Volvo.. This should be easy The car has run about 11' miles so far, but unfortunately Sebastian(the owner) had the car at a Supermarked-polish-while-you-shop-treatment this summer... The car had a good layer of asphalt when I received it.. The paint variated between 140 to 109 UM. Equipment: Washi-washi: GritGuard Mothers woolglove and wash pudel from SV Foam Cannon CG Citrus Wash and gloss Maxi Suds II GR 1:3 Bilberry Guzzler Waffle HT Interior: FOMA Combivac MG APC Scholl purple 9000 A/C cleaner from Nanolotus MF Variation Clay: Pinnacle Tires: Megs Makita 9227 rotary Plasic trim: Black wow Paint treatment: 3M EF 3M UF 3M FCP+ LSP: CG Jetseal 109 SV VIKING Rims: Bilberry 1:3 SV Autobahn Windows: Nanolotus PRO Time spent: Sunday: 6 hrs Monday: 6 hrs DAY 2 Had to do two rounds with Bilberry and a brush on the rims: Mostly dust here _ Lack of black colour here: The dirt was a real PITA on this one: Put on som CG GR 1:3 on the entire car: Bilberry rims: Degreaser sat for about 3-4 minutes before I foamed the: Started with CG Maxi Suds: Left on for 5 minutes: Aufsphylung: Gave the tires a good scrub down: Then some more foaming...lol : Inside of doors got some SV brush and SV Wash pudel: Rinsed of again: Clayet with Pinnacle: Rinsed of the car again, as I've experienced that masking tape will not stick after using QD as clay lube.. Some dryers: Sebastian came to do some work to.. He vacumed the interior and then cleaned it with Foma Combivac with this soap mix: I went out on swirl hunting: LOL: Have a feeling that some of this is from the Supermarked quality job: Did a little test with Scholl S17 and black pad. Corrected quite alright, but left a lot of holo's: Then I tried 3M EF(yellow cap) with the green pad with very good results.. Not even close to FCP+ in cut left close to no holo's: Some more with EF and green pad: So far - so good: Used the same combination on some small RDS's, but with much more pressure: Then UFSE: Never a polish without some 50/50: This is from EF on green pad, 4 passes at 2000rpm.. Finished on top: Another angle: Some more "50/50" but without using masking tape: Aprox medium hard paint I like: Aprox work area: Worked in on about 2100rpm and finished on 1500: Results: I was interupted in all of this 50/50 work by Sebastian, who was done with the interior. Time for some A/C-cleaner then: Here's a nice scratch on the left rear.. Did an average measurement at 138uM.. Time for some heavier compound now I guess.. Used FCP+ and worked the area at up to 2500rpm with some good pressure: Reduced down, but still visible: Did one long round with EF on green pad(switched pad's again): When I was done with the scratch it was reduced down to 109uM. Did not want to do so much more: Sebastian taking photos: Pale from the flash..lol: hmmmm..Sebastian is a little bit unsure with the work...: Some more 50/50: Checking for holo's: Day one done.. The plan for tomorrow will be one round with UFSE. One layer of Vertua Bond followed by jetseal and a wax. TBC!!!! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DAY 2 Did the rear lid with EF on green pad before I did the entire car with UFSE on blue pad.. Checking for holo's: Oils from UFSE still left: Pleased: Wipedown time.. IPA spiced up with some Menz top inspection: Around trim and tight areas I used 3M Control spray: Liqueur wagon: Rinsed of with HP: New inspection after IPA: Did one round of CG Vertua Bond on a white 6" CSS pad followed with one layer of CG Jetseal 109. Both applied by DA: Since this car had a pole on another forum, this was the wax that had most of the votes: Taddara-daaaaa: Ok.. I'm not going to cheat: SV Viking: While the wax was working I did some AG super sheen on the plastic parts under the hood: Wax off: Arches treated with CG Bare Bones: Thanks for watching
Thanks agpatel.. I try to write some comments on as many pictures as I can, hopefully this tells the story
Great work as always.. But why did Sebastian tell me that you worjed for a shopping centre "detailcenter" this spring?:tiptoe:
Great work! I have a few questions: What is the software you were using that had percentages of the materials you used? What else have you used from Nanolotus? Do you like their products? And for anyone reading this in US has anyone tried Nanolotus?
odgaard: Are you thinking about the percentages in the Wax pole? That's just a function in the norwegian detailersclub forum. From Nanolotus I've tried a lot of products. MF, leater cleaner, fabric and leather sealer and their cleaning sponge which is fantastic to use in the home..
Yes, you know what to do with the sample then Ketil Just ship it with the rest of the order I have in now;-)
Brynjar..very nice job on the Volvo. The pics of you guys are funny..if you smile any wider, you'll crack your face, LOL. Seriously, nice job and great writeup!!
