I keep meaning to try some Griot's Speed Shine. How do you like it?

Optimum is currently working on a waterless wash.

It has a chemical smell, but not offensive. Cleans well and has 1% nuba. Just picked up another gallon. Pm me if you want a sample. BTW I'm a QD junkie if that tells you anything.

I experience the same exact thing with OID Karl.

Where do you get #40 from locally? I love this for use when polishing and cleaning up as it leaves nothing behind ad cheaper than Menz stuff. I use Menz as a final wipe down and not everytime to clean polish off.

I missed it until I was fiddling around with the S2000 getting it ready for a meet, inside the garage. I just happened to catch it in the right light. Now, my OID is mostly used for wiping down my laptop.

Majestic Solutions keeps it on hand by the gallon, over by the other Meguiar's stuff in the left hand corner as you walk in. Very well priced, too, I think I paid $26 for a gallon. I agree, it's GREAT stuff for cleaning up during/after polishing.

BTW, I typed #40, and I guess I meant #34. Final Inspection. The pink stuff with "Body Shop Safe" printed on the back label. This one. I've got some sort of mental block on the number for Final Inspection, I always want to call it #40.

Hmm yes it is #34 haha, I will have to pick up a gallon when I get back to Raleigh. I use it everytime I polish to help remove polish. Also little bit of insurance the polishing dust will not mar the paint.

I've been using the TC premium detail spray and it works fine for me... I use it a lot on door jams and on wheels after I wash them. I agree OID is difficult to work with. The only thing I don't like about the TC detail spray is that it's not super slick. I actually like CG speed wipe mixed with TC detail spray about 50/50. Nice combo!!

I dont think I have used a gallon of QD ever. I used to use it a lot more on customers cars but now I almost never use it. Just looking for something that works well on my car after washes and to help clean up doorjambs etc.

Here is what I have been using for about a year now. Works great for cleaning & adds some gloss as well IMO. If you are already an Optimum user, this would be a chance to do some experimenting. I believe this recipe came from the Optimum forum. I thought I had the particular thread bookmarked, but I can't seem to locate it now. Sorry.

Anyway here is the mix to make 32oz of cleaning/QD...

    2oz of ONR - straight
5oz of OID - at ready to use strength
    25 oz of distilled water

I have even used Shag Rags with this as a waterless wash on slightly dirty - dark colored vehicles - with no marring. Although IMO... an ONR wash can be faster if you have access to the water.

I mostly use this mix for door jambs-frames, and underneath side of deck lids and hoods. This might not be for everyone, but I have great success with it, so I thought I would add my 2 cents.

PM me if you have any questions.

Well thats why I NEVER buy anything from CG direct... if they have a special product that other stores dont carry yet.... I wait for those stores to carry it.

    CG takes For-eva-Jennay!

That's strange - I've used OID on my car (which is black) and I never noticed any hazing, even under a halogen lamp. I follow up with a dry MF to make sure there's no streaks, maybe that's why. I think OID is great.

Not anymore, they fixed that problem...I get stuff from them usually in 2-3 days...

Same here. I love the stuff for my black RAV4: no haze that I've noticed & the slickness is as good as it gets.

I can't wait to try Optimum's waterless wash, but the weather here in Jersey has been too frigid lately.
