Ok, Here's what i got Red GMC Sierra. Heavy swirls, maybe even spiderwebs. I need to detail her badly, but the weather has been terrible down here and not to mention it's grinding season (sugarcane harvest) I Have the PC 7424 w/ Orange, white, and black pads (thanks wifey) This is what I'm thinking! Wash Clay Wax Polish/seal Any tips on the order of steps, what product to use for each, what pad to use for each, and where does the swirl removal/paint correction fit in? I also use red clay Magic. I have been using Meg cleaner wax for the longest. It's time for me to step up to some real deal car care products. Please help!! Any tips or suggestions to help me take car of my truck would be greatly appreciated Sorry So Long!!:thumb:
wash, clay, polish, seal, wax. That's the steps you should take. don't use the red clay magic as it will mar the paing, get some blue clay magic, red is for the really nasty stuff. Chrome cleaner, try Duragloss metal polish, it works well and is cheap, or try autosol, works well as well.
Make sure you polish before wax. And remember that a sealant goes below a wax. Mothers makes a great polish for chrome. I would say mothers chrome polish or mothers bullet polish.
Thanks for the replies guys. Out of the pads i have, which ones should i use for each of the steps?? Also, what about the swirl marks ?? Oh, and here's what I'm working with. Not a very good pic though (cell phone)
I'm gonna order whatever you guys suggest!! But i currently have Meg tech wax, cleaner wax, and the 3 step Meguiars.
Well I would suggest doing an alcohol wipe down first of like the side of your bed and posting up some pics of the defects that are on your truck. that will better tell us what kinds of polishes you need and other pads as well
