Well not many of you know me on here but i have been detailing for almost 21yrs. I started like everyone on every day autos an got up to the high end autos where i got to make good money an have since stayed there. Mostly I do private appointment only details an just decided I would open a shop so I looked around but stuff is costly an i decided to go more south from me to the badder lands. I thought I'd get a great place for a great price yea i got a great place for a great price just not a great area. Got all the town crap done fixed shop up nice an was going to have a grand opening but before i did a few people decided for me an ripped the place off. Even with bars an gates an alarm they got alot of stuff only good thing that came out of it is land lord giving money back so i can leave an insurance going to cover most of the stuff i can prove. So now I'm back to the beginning an going to ask dumb questions from time to time so i can rebuild my tools an supplies so you guys don't mind me. It is funny for years i watch forums never to join now i don't work my main job anymor just the detailing so decide to join in that time try to open shop an boom all blows up maybe i should have stayed on the side lines lol. So one thing i have to ask what paint meter gauge should i get i want 3 of them need to know what you guys think for 1,2,3 choice as i figure start here since i got buffers today 2 makitas 2 flexes an 2 pc's. Thanks in advance.
that sucks a lot. its not just money damage but its work and thought you put into it. look at bright side, it happened when there werent any customers cars there or something i have HL II paint meter, only $225 shipped and pretty accurate(about 3% accuracy)
Ah man that sucks! I'm sorry you have to go through all that. Hopefully everything will work out in the end, good luck! :thumb:
Thanks hopefully it will i had the highline 311 but i wanted to see what was out there that is better.
that really sucks but i believe in karma so what goes around comes around so hopefully those guys get what they deserve one day
When it comes to paint gauges the sky's the limit, there are paint gauges from $300 to $10,000.00 + Bottom line is you get what you pay for, the higher the price the better the quality and the more sensitive the paint gauge is hens the accuracy. I've got the PosiTector 200 and the PosiTector 6000, both great paint gauges and have saved me from striking through clear coat several times now, a very wise investment  Hope this helps.
I'm old school i stayed with what i had for so long lol i don't really know whats out there. i had the 311 but one for steel an one for aluminum cause at the time they did not have the combo one. I see the new 311 combo i might get that an the positest one looks good i have to check the two you have so much has changed since my meters came out lol.
You know what is really messed up about this situation is it's probly some tweekers that stole all this stuff and have not much of an idea what it's used for. They will end up pawning it dimes on the dollars or just throwing some the stuff away.
i do not know if you wrote your serials down for this occasions like this. if these guys go and pawn items the store put all serials through police check. if something is report stolen it is then returned to you. i sucks that but i too have had cars and pickups stolen from me and it is not a good feeling.
I never wrote anything cause never thought it would happen but in the part of town i was in i doubt any pawn shop cares they just want to make money thanks.
