So I got a bunch of audi and vw badges for free at work and have been toying around with the idea of spelling out something simple with them, and then using the result to replace the "GTI" badging on the rear hatch of my MKV. Here are the badges I have so far (including the GTI badging already on my hatch):

    V6
    S4
    TDI
    GLI
    GTI

Some ideas I had were to spell STD using the S from the S4 and the TD from the TDI. Or I was thinking about using the S badge again and either using the TI already on the car or the TI from TDI to spell out STI using the S4 S which gives it that obvious VAG affiliation. Essentially a spoof on STIs. Ill try and post pics of some mock ups later.

    Ideas/opinions?

Not a fan of messing with badges, but I would do something subtle as changing the I for a red one if you find it and getting a porsche turbo badge right under the vw emblem in the back.

Funny that you posted this 'cause I saw a few months ago a minivan with a custom badge that spelled "goyavan" ... lol. Ricans and their cars ... let me tell you lol

I'd just get rid of all badging... but that's just me.

Thought about that, but the rear hatch looks too plain totally debadges. On my A4 tho, it looked like pure sex.

i debadged my car and loved it. if you want to keep something on there id say black out the GTI but then u'd have to black out all chrom pieces on the car :/

Yeah I've been thinking about that as well, but I'm not sure if I want to go all blacked out. How about this one: VAG. For those that don't know it stands for Volkswagen Audi Group.

Agree the MKV GTI need something on the back or looks like something is missing...

Could do MKV, GOLF, saw one at a show that said MK4+1

dunno, might get confused for the other meaning lol id say think about the blacked out look. Personally i think if its tastefully done, as i have on my car, it looks really nice. let me know if you want me to photoshop the parts blacked out

But the double meaning of VAG would be fine by me lol. Thanks for the offer ill let you know if I decide to go that route.

Agpatel: I like the MKV idea but where would I get the M and K from?

You can buy them pretty cheap off ebay...trying to think of VW that would have those in them but cant but check out ebay if you dont mind spending a few bucks on it.

    I just have:

    GTI
DSG (the one from Mk4 r32's dsg badge)

Okay. I would not want to put S.T.D. on the back of my car. Which one? Syphilis? Warts? Herpes?

And VAG might be okay. But I could foresee someone taking a paint pen and adding "INA" to the end of it.

I would either go debadged or just have the VW badge on.
