Since i will have a place ou there i decided to get a job working in the wine industry (dont have one yet but still). With me comes my car :applause2:
I was wonder if anyone on here live in Kelowna and knows the bylaws for washing cars and soap down soap drains.

Sweet I now have a house in Kelowna to crash :headbang:

    hahaha just teasing....well kinda

As for there bylaws, if I remember correctly in BC you can wash a vehicle on your driveway...not like here in Calgary :shakehead:

Both Ken and I live in BC and I have always washed the cars on the driveway, street, ONR in garage. Never had a problem. Sorry I'm not much help, but I haven't looked into the restrictions. In the summer time though, you may have stricter regulations for watering gardens etc...

    ouch...

I don't think you'll have any problems Calgary. I have clients in Kelowna. Give me a heads up when your heading out and I'll see if I can't schedule a little road trip and meet up with you. You'll like Kelowna. Iginla has a summer home there so it can't be all bad!

I personally love the Okanagan, it's beautiful there. We usually just head up there for a week or so in the summer to get away from Vancouver. Very relaxing there, I love it. The vineyards are awesome to visit as well!

Clagary, I live in (just outside) Penticton and of course know people etc in Kelowna. My parents are looking for a house there too.
Anyway, I've never heard of a problem washing cars in your driveway there and it isn't a problem here either.
The entire Okanagan is wonderfull as you aleady know and you will enjoy your time here. Having lived a few places in Canada, there isn't anywhere else I would rather be.
    Cheers

I'm from Kelowna and there are no restrictions. However, some of the newer communities there prohibit it I think, like Wilden (where my new house is). But it's not going to stop me, i'll just be sneaky.

Thanks for the info, i ended up washing my car anyway, i was in upermission so it didnt seem to be an issue.
Kelowna is a great town, i had a blast. Lots of great people, great wines and good times. Calgary is still home. I missed calgary and am glad to be back. im not sure icould do kelowna year round.

I was up in Predator Ridge a few weeks ago at a clients place for the weekend. Never been to Kelowna - seems really nice. The wife and I went to visit a client of mine on Lakeshore Drive. 10,000 sq/ft house! Holy crap Batman! I'll be going back up in the spring for a working holiday.

I just cant do Kelowna year round, its to small of a town for me. I love calgary, its weird how much you miss home when you move somewhere else.

nice area, some of those houses are huge. My folks were thinking about getting a place on the water but decided that they didnt want to spend that much in a recesion and the carrying cost of those things is insane. property taxes on the water start at 16k. some people pay ver 24k a year... to much for a vaction home if you ask me.
