A friend of mine hasnt been able to work in over 2 years becauase of a similar accident in an identical car (well, it was the royal blue color with the 18's), and now has major neck problems. I say youre lucky to walk away unscathed, and you should enjoy that...the worse you think your situation is, the worse you will feel about it...

thanks ill add it to my list

Thanks im doing fine and i'm also glad it wasnt worse.

as of now im not sure which way im going to go. I'd like to go to my shop so that i can get better parts but we'll see if its fixable.

that would be possible but the headlights for my car at around 650 and the evo's are 1,200 so it would look funny to the insurance.

    thanks bud

ha maybe. i like to mod my cars very cleanly and quietly. plus this is a DD and its got a mouse on a wheel for an engine.

thats horrible. im def thankfull i walked away from this unharmed

they should cut you a check for damage and you can do whatever you want with it. so you might be able to get parts cheap and put some toward detailing :), goo luck with everything. is meet still going on next sunday? i might come but not sure yet

yep the meet is still on, this wont change much, only that it will not have the paint corrected as i wanted to before lol. we'll see what happens with it.

Someone ran a red light and plowed into my car, too. It gets better! I was lucky enough to have zero frame damage.

This was about 6 months ago.

Yeh I feel better than i did yesterday because i know my options and it doesnt look too bad now, bad thing about mine is that the frame is twisted bad in the front under the hood

lol maybe a wool pad would be better

    Ev,

I know you are concern about frame damage, but from the pics I see more damage on the rad support and the tip of the frame than anything else. Let me know what the bodyshop says ...

Sorry to read about this. I bet this is absolutely heart-breaking. Hopefully you can get it fixed as soon as possible. Too many drunk and high a$$holes always gotta ruin the day for everybody else.

I get pissed when I get a little scratch on my car. I can't imagine how you feel. That sucks the big one. But at least you're okay.

So sorry to hear! On a good note--it looks to be 90% cosmetic, probably a new front sub-frame. Doesn't look like any suspension damage or frame damage. But sometimes you just wish it would be totaled.. cars are never the same after they're crashed.

Note: when a car is totaled out, it means the repairs are worth more than the car itself. I know this is a common misconception that if there's frame damage, the car is totaled. This is GENERALLY true, but not always. Seems to me it'll probably just be fixed, which as I said earlier, is sometimes worse :(

Just remember...as bad is it looks, you walked away in one piece. Cars can always be fixed or replaced, that's what insurance is for. You on the other hand cannot. Thank the big guy upstairs you walked away unscathed, and you'll fix your car better than new. Good luck and sorry this happened to you.

    Update: in case anyone cares

car has been in the shop for a few weeks now. I've been stopping by and checking out the progress every so often, and it looks good. i should have the car back either Monday or Tuesday, the delay was due to a piece of the chassis being on backorder. From what I was told the following major parts were replaced with new ones:

    Chassis for that area
    Hood
Front Bumper :) had a lot of orange peel and haziness from a horrible job done by a previous mechanic
    Right Fender
Both Front doors have been repainted :) (had a lot of rock chips on them)
    Headlight
    Radiator
    Washer Fluid Tank

I got all my parts in such as DDM HID Bulbs, LED Side marker lights and Flat Black Vinyl and I also got some Blackfire Sealant ready :)

Re-painted the rear lip yesterday and it came it out pretty damn good after sanding it. had to bondo a few parts i initially missed bit its all good. should be done and ready for when i get the car back.

now i just need some parts to tighten up my suspension, (strut bar, lower truss bar, sway bar) and maybe some more cosmetics to celebrate its return lol
