....Who actually knows what he's doing.

So I'm at work, minding my own business. I'm compounding a black audi a4 as we speak. Yes, I can work a rotary and blackberry at the same time. Anyways, my "boss" is also working on a black audi, and I glanced over about ten minutes ago to make sure he's not doing anything completely moronic. Surprise, he is. He compounded the car, and just got done "finishing" it with a lower cut wool pad and a finishing polish that contains fillers. Whatever, at this point, I just keep my mouth shut anymore because they all think I'm crazy. Right now, he's telling a newer guy that he's going to wax the car, and then use a sealant to "really seal in the lustre". He literally just said that. And guess what the new guy is going? Getting ready to respray the cars centercaps. In the shop. With spray paint. I'm going to let him finish masking off the center caps and sand them, then yell at him and tell him he's an idiot for even considering spraying the center caps about 6 feet from the car I'm working on.

LOL ... no wonder you always text me back so fast when you are at work.

That's just plain sad ... considering that you work at a "high-end" end dealership. Was Thompson any better?

I just got back from getting the oil changed on my 3/4 ton Dodge. I thought I might as well get my batteries serviced whilst I was there, the terminals were corroding. And whilst I'm at it, let's get the inspection taken care of as well. They charged me $35 to change a bulb so that I could pass inspection, and when they serviced the batteries, they sprayed all this black crap over the terminals so now my engine bay looks like a truck with 250,000 miles on it.

I love going to the dealership.

hey guys. hope you all enjoyed my little story. i'll try and update this thread whenever i have more funny stories for you all. about me getting promoted, well, i was supposed to. the boss i have now was just hired. the first guy, who was even more of an idiot (try, using laquer thinner as clay lube...and knowing it), was fired, per my report to the owner about him. i was asked what needed to be changed and if they should fire the first guy, and i said yeah they should. i was given the impression i would be promoted to run the shop and completely revamp everything, but instead they hired another guy who didnt even show his first two days because he couldnt afford to put gas in his car to get to work and had to wait for his unemployment check to come in.

    god bless america.

yeah crazy right? i had finished doing all the wet work on this car, and it was just about time for my lunch and i tell him im going in lunch and i'll start claying it when i get back. well i walk back in and the guy is literally claying the car with laquer thinner as lube. its dissolving the clay and smearing it all over the car. i say "hey, you know thats laquer thinner right?". he replies "yeah, i know. its really rough on this side of the car".
