Just ran out of my Meg's UQD and am looking to audition a CG product for the open QD spot in my arsenal.

My reason's for switching off of the Meg's:
    • Though the Meg's UQD was nice, it was expensive since it can't be purchased in a gallon size like some other brands (such as CG).
    • I also didn't like hearing that there's isopropyl alchohol in Meg's UQD: when I think of isopropyl alchohol I think sealant/wax removal. Who knows: maybe it's in such small quantity that it doesn't effect your current layer(s) of protection, but we can only go on what we know.
    • I like that these 2 products below (reportedly) offer anti-static properties

I'm thinking about one of these and would like opinions of anyone that has used either product, or better still someone who has used both.:

Extreme Slick Synthetic -Acrylic Polymer Detailer (Anti-Static)

SPEED WIPE SPRAY & Streak Free QUICK SHINE (Anti Static)

The CG synthetic QD is a pretty decent one. I had a small sample of that and I liked it but still ended up going back to my OID for the slickness it left behind. I have not found a QD that leaves the slickness of OID, FK425 does come close and is easier to buff off, and red mist is more of a spray sealant but still has a pretty slick finish. I say if you are not set on CG then to look into OID or FK 425 you would not be disspainted. If I had to pick a CG QD I would go with the synthetic or the pro detailer with carnauba.

ag, you've made me re-think my QD plan. I have Optimum QD+Gloss Enhancer but have been strictly using it during the drying stage following ONR washes. I've gotta give it a try as a straight QD on my car between washes rather than just as a dry-off enhancer. And it is affordably-priced in container sizes up to a gallon. Thanks for the good alternative idea.

I carry the CG Extreme Synthetic QD in my car because it is really really good for bird bomb removal. My home QD and drying aid is FK 425 though.

I think I'll always have Optimum QD on my shelf. It's cheap, it leaves a slick surface, and it works on all exterior surfaces.

I have gone through a bottle of both the Synthetic QD and the Speed-Wipe. I know that Synthetic QD is very commonly used by a lot of people, but I really prefer the Speed-Wipe. I used to have a Black car and I found Speed Wipe to be very streak-free while Synthetic QD can be a bit streaky if it's not buffed off quickly enough. Speed-Wipe also offers slightly better protection and durability....Synthetic is supposed to be slicker and offer a brighter shine. For what it's worth, Speed Wipe smells amazing and it's pink !!

Have you tried it? It seems like it's more for sealing and protecting those clear bras/wraps that people put on their vehicles. Does it work on paint and glass?

I have it, I use it to clean/seal my paint protection film i have on some parts of my car. Works nice for doing PPF, dont like it for paint...there are better QDs out there for paint IMO. It does work nice on glass as long as the glass is not really dirty.
