Hey guys, So last time I detailed my 335i I used strictly Poorboys (SSR 1-3) products. After discussing this with a bunch of people, they have turned me onto Menzerna products. They said that Menzerna are hands down better so I wanted to give them a try. I'm getting ready for my winter detail so I ordered some new products from Glimmer Glass. This time I plan to wash the car with some Poorboys shampoo, clay the car using ONR as a lube, then begin the swirl removing part. I heard many reviews that the best way to attack jet black is to start with the SIP (PO83) and a orange pad followed up with the Super Finish (106 FA) with a white pad. I then planned to jetseal 109 it with a blue pad twice, followed up by Dodo Juice Blue Velvet on a blue pad. I didn't order the Menzerna yet, so I'm asking are these the two best products to use on the soft jet black paint? Thanks, Mike
should be fine. I would apply the wax by hand though. a very thin coat. waut 24 hours then apply another coat.
I'd prefer to finish down with 85RD instead of 106FA on BMW black. The PO203S/85RD combo SpecC mentioned is a great combo imo.
x2. SIP and 106FA are old news, that was the cutting edge a couple years ago but now 203 will cut like SIP and finish like 106, then 85RD will just amp up the gloss. Same amount of work, much better finish.
WCM3 I have a jet black audi i'll behitting up with PowerFinish PO203S and SuperFinish PO106FA then Sealing Wax APO60 in about 2 hours.. want o come over and help me tape?
i dont know about BMW paint but on my black onyx Lexus paint SIP was performing much much better than 203. I did a test section of both and the SIP correction was far cleaner. I then followed up with 85RD and it came out looking glossy like no other. Just my personal experience...
Haha..I would if you weren't in Michigan! Have you guys tried this on Jet Black paint? I didn't buy anything..plan to at the beginning of next week.
