CG 'Go Green Waterless Wash System' instead of QD

I'm comparing this product's utility to that of any given QD.

When you QD your car you're basically giving it a mini-wash (cleaning away light dust, etc..) and adding some slickness/gloss/protection.

With CG Go Green Waterless Wash System you're pretty much doing the same thing but it's supposed to be safe for a car in a dirtier state (medium dirtyness).

I'm thinking about this product because I've just run out of my Meg's UQD and I'm thinking to myself: "why re-stock a QD which is only supposed to handle the lightest cleanup when I can purchase this waterless wash which does all that the QD does but is also supposed to be safe for a dirtier car"?

I have like 2/3rds of a gallon I'm working on getting rid of.

Don't like it at all, or using it up?

I don't really have a use for it after getting a gallon of ONR.

This stuff is pretty nice, but kinda laborous to use compared to ONR or Spray & Wipe. I also found that I got a lot of streaks with it.

I would suggest ONR to you. You can use as a rinseless wash or mix it up as a spray QD. I can ONR my car in about 20 minutes, and it will be much cleaner and glossier than a standard QD wipe down.

There are alot of guys who really like this product. Ive used it and I like it, still working on a few techniques to make it easier, however I would not replace my QD with it.

I've got ONR and use it weekly as a standard wash.
I should have fully qualified my intentions with this 'one product versus another product' discussion: I'm looking for something that's as safe to use as possible/will add a nice shine/which I can apply & wipe in the parking lot at work during my lunch hour (think 15-20 minutes and without the necessity of a wash bucket and gallons of water).
From what I've read about both the QD and the waterless wash products it seems as though the waterless wash has more lubricity and wetting agents so that it can safely deal with a higher level of 'dirtyness' without risk of scratching/swirling. For this attribute and the higher residual level of protection (sealant) it leaves behind versus the QD, I have it out front in my consideration.

For the purposes of this thread's intended focus I'd like to filter out wash methods involving buckets and gallons of water. I'm looking for something like a QD (but safer if possible) that I can spray on/wipe off during my lunch break in the parking lot while at work.

I'm looking to replace the functionality of the QD which I've been using with this waterless wash type product based on it's stated attributes of being safe for use on a vehicle that has something more than just dust on it (but not necessarily full-blown dirty).
The other reason I'm thinking of eliminating the QD from my product lineup in favor of this waterless wash is in consideration of the product's claim that it leaves behind some level (albeit a low level) of wax & sealant. A QD leaves behind a bit of slickness and gloss, but this product seems to claim more.

    Please expand on this sentiment.
    - Method/ease of application seems the same.
    - Both are equally portable and reportedly quick in use.
    - The Waterless wash seems to win out though in the level of protection left behind.

Looking to hear your further thoughts on this.

Thanks to all for contributing thus far. I'm looking forward to your additional thoughts and comments, so please weigh in again with your updated (in light of me clarifying my intentions/thread focus) ideas/opinions.

In that case, I would suggest Poorboy's Spray & Wipe. You can use it anywhere, even in the sun, with great results. And i've cleaned a fairly dirty car with it, but you'll go through a lot of MF towels.

However, i don't think it leaves any sort of protection, it just cleans.

If I can use a product that adds the advantage of leaving behind a little protection in addition to everything else then I'm likely going to decide on that purchase.
What can I say? I want it all ;)

I would be open to a PB product equivalent to the CG one this thread references directly though. I have several PB products and like them.
On AutoGeek one of Poorboy's staff members suggested doing a PB mix of S+W:S+G 70:30. Not a bad suggestion but more expensive.

    Thanks for your input.

Have you tried out PB's QD+. I know for a fact is has a bit of carnauba in it. Plus it leaves a very slick surface. According to Steve from PB QD+ doesn't have much durability. It lasts about a week. I have used it and personally would not use it to "wash" a car that has not been washed for any period of time longer than a week.
Personally on a well cared for finish I would S&W the car then follow it with QD+

    PB's QD+ sounds like a consideration.
I generally ONR once a week so it might be well-suited in my case. My thoughts moving to the waterless wash were fulled by an overly-protective desire to ensure against swirl creation.
The nuba in the QD+ might tip me to that product.

    Thanks.

If you ONR once a week. I would then just ONR followed by QW+ to maintain the LSP. Or you could ONR once a month to clean everything and use S&W then QW+ every week just to maintain.. Oh for some reason I love the smell of QD+ I have been known to crack the bottle open to get a whiff. My girlfriend on the other hadn hates the smell. I think she is silly.

Well I think your going to have a hard time finding something that meets all your criteria. The CG waterless stuff is probably your best bet for what your "truly" looking for, but IMO it's just kind of a pain to work with.

Spraying on and wiping off are not hard, but getting overspray on the windows and other areas just makes it more cumbersome to me than a quick S&W.

I like that idea of the S&W plus the S&G, never though of that before.

Well, for one its a costly product to start with. $42 plus shipping. You go thru this stuff pretty fast in my tests. This isn't just a spray on wipe off product. You spray it on, wipe the product off and the wax in the product will haze and you have to come back and wipe it again. If my car just has some dust and light contaminants, I would rather just QD it. Im still deciding wether I want to order a gallon.

Whoa; good catch. I was unaware of the extra step.
Ease & speed of use is a key concern since I'll be looking to spend no more than 15-20 minutes during my lunch hour using whatever product I end up choosing.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll pass now.
