Tire was leaking yesterday while cleaning up the cars so i took it to discount tire this morning...

    only to find this...

Which wouldn't be so bad if the SRT8 came with a spare of some sort. Or replacement OEM wheels didn't start at $400 for one reconditioned (read: USED) wheel. So instead i ordered a whole new set of wheels. Now i'll have a spare at home :)
It still holds air long enough to make it through the day and my short 6 mile commute. New shoes should be here friday.

Living ... you might want to explain to everyone how bad the Michigan roads are ... I think everyone I knew in Michigan had a spare rim or two. I only lived there for two years and I had to replace two rims on my car and my wife's front windshield.

BTW ... Schram's Auto in Waterford has a lot of late model parts that are literally take offs from factory test vehicles. They specialize in GM, but they also have Chrysler and some Ford parts.

My new wheels shipped already. I had made it 38k miles with out a blown tire or wheel so knock on wood i'm lucky. but also SUPER careful too.

(i even trained the girl to be a master pot hole spotter)

lol ... pot holes and deers. I remember last year there was a big issue with the deer population in Rochester.

BTW ... do you drive your srt-8 in the winter? or do you use your a4 as your winter beater? Even though it's far from a "beater" ... lol

Take it to a welding shop and weld that bad boy up. Will take a few mins, grind it back, smooth it off and its done. Ive cracked a few rims and fixed it this way

If it were me I'd just fire up the tig and have it fixed and back on the car for free.... but it always burns the clear.. :(

The deer aren't too bad this year. last year there was a virus they had that was killing them off by the dozens. leaving them dead in peoples yards / golf courses / parks etc etc..

i'm sure it will be back to bad again next year though :)

yeah i drive it all year long. in the non snow season we normally switch back and forth (the misses and i that is)

i just realized i just wasted diablo on the wheels that are now coming off that car :(

on the plus side the new wheels will be painted and cleared so i can wax and seal them up.
