One of the member accross the pond showed some pics using this little 3M sanding blob that held small sanding pads, the PN that traced to that particular product were UK only stuff... but I just got a 3M catalog and they have the same little deal in it with US PN's... 051144-13441 The sanding disc are Finesse-it wet dry scalloped discs, they don't list a grit in the catalog (odd) but I'm going to order these up too and try and figure out what they are exactly... PN 051131-05921 Note, both the little blob and discs are 1-3/8" diameter The first set of numbers are catalog references I'm guessing... my buddy who works at Oreily's gave me the book and said he can order anything that is in that book... gonna have him order me one of each tomorrow...
3m 05921 seems to be 1500 grit R & E Paint Supply. 3M 05921, Finesse-it Imperial WetorDry Scallop Disc, 1-3/8", 1500 Grit, 100 discs per sleeve
I've wondered about those. They have them right on the shelf at a local auto body supply shop here. What price did you get?
I can get those a well. Not 3M stuff, but from a different company. If you can get the 3M pricing, I'll see what I can do as well. I've been using these for about 10 years. Awesome little tool.
Blob seems to be around $8-10, with sanding disk prices around $20/100 disks. Blobs: http://3m.hillas.com/c-74-3m-hand-pad.aspx Only in pack of 20 there http://www.rshughes.com/products/051111_50199.html?ref=g&refcp=froogle can by just one from them.
Is this the little hand sander to use with those sanding discs? Also, is this same hand sander in a recent post of a Passat done over @ Pirex's shop? 3M 13441, 1 piece, Finesse-it Hand Sanding Pad, 1-1/4" Dia.
That looks like them... but those are 1 1/4" the pn I posted is for 1 3/8" lol... not like that even matters lol... It looks like an AWESOME tool for very isolated RDS and even better for dust flecks in fresh repaints.
This one? It cuts pretty fast, managed to strikethough with it. I bought it at a local hardware store.
