What is the difference between 4, 5.5, and 6.5 uber pads? What does the thickness increase or decrease?
O ok, thanx. So does the larger diameter cut more than a smaller one? Or is the difference simply just the diameter?
I was always under the impression that the diameter difference was just for different situations, small pad for pillars and tight areas, medium pad for fenders/lower panels and weaker machines, large pads for large open areas like hood and such...
Small pads on a dual action will cut more, larger pads won't cut as much. This is the opposite situation for rotary application, i.e. larger will cut more.
use 5.5" or 5.25" pads on the PC/pcxp. I use 6.5" pads on the rotary, or 5.5"...all my wool pads are 6.5, while the polishing pads are the same ones I use for the PC in 5.5"
