This was a perfectly restored 1961 Jag XKE Goldhead. Been under cover and the kids had been playing on and around it.

Ok, Got Wax, if I call the number on the Zenith Detailing website, and YOU pick up and I confirm that it is you, I will write you a formal apology on this forum. That is my promise.

Well I personally spoke with Got Wax and he assured me that he is the owner of zenithdetail.com

So the complaint/accusation holds no ground.

Hopefully we have all learned a good lesson here, one is if you don't have proof and I mean 100% proof to back up your accusations please don't point fingers or accuse. Most issues are simply miss understanding which get escalated out of proportion, meaning a storm is created within a glass of water (just an analogy)

Having said that I repeat Got Wax is the owner of zenithdetail.com, at least that is what I'm told so lets all sit back, relax and enjoy the pictures.

As you can see I've edited this thread, so if anyone has any issues with the editing please feel free to send me a PM.

I just love the E-type.. The only Jag I would own though. Nice work too, must be great to work on such a true classic.

    Kind regards,

Like the Jag...it doesn't. He puts them together then leaves them sit. All four tires were flat before pulling out the Jag!!

How come you avoided the top when foaming? Turned out real nice though.

Top just installed before I serviced the car. I think this car is going or already has gone away. After sitting in the garage for so many years in the Denver climate, the last top apparently had some type of denegration - don't know, didn't see it before being replaced. But, I do know he had left it "top down" the entire time it sat in the garage, under cover. And, I think that is the one thing that detracted from the car - I don't think canvas was original equipment. But, I think the last one was vinyl which, I believe, is why it kinda had some problems after being down for 8-10 years??

ekk, I still get sad when I hear about amazing cars that never get driven and just sit around. Yeah it is all good looking at them but they are cars, made to be driven. I understand that some may not want to push the cars and race them and what not but nothing wrong with taking a little cruse and driving it around town.

Oh well, still nice job on the car and hope the new owner will drive it, if I understood you correctly when you said the car is gone.

I agree, cars should not be treated like paintings.

I liked this line in a Jay Leno article "But in this country, most people who have an old car like a Duesenberg put it in a garage, and since it’s almost never used, nothing breaks. And because nothing breaks, there are no parts available to fix it. And since it doesn’t need to be fixed, the people who know how to make the parts or fix the cars—well, they eventually pass away. "

Basically we are preserving the cars to death.

That is one thing I like about Jay, every car he owns he drives, and takes them out like they should be.
