I'm gonna check it out, I'm pretty interested in it, maybe have a little talk with TOWGT about it. I've been too busy studying quantum mechanics lately lol

I really didn't want to keep this thread going because it was about Gloss It, and has gone very awry. I think what DM wanted to say was that if you had a 4um scratch, PG may remove more than 4um, and his method would remove 4um. Regardless different products, different polishers, different clearcoats, different people, is a recipe for completely different approaches. Leave it at that.

The thing that I am really interested in is when I get the GI products, it is my understanding that you are able to spin the rotary much faster than one would normally. So, faster and better finish??? If you can go that much faster it almost seems to me that a better finish is almost a given.

    SpecC Wax on..Wax off

Heat is one of the products that is produced as the polish particles break down. Even if you spin it a 600 RPM on a rotary, the surface will still warm up a bit.

The more I'm reading about GI, I'm just really excited to give the Grey Wool pad a whirl as well as the EVP!!!

Also, I'm kinda happy to read that using the products enables a higher RPM!!!

Anyone been able to see the use at higher RPM?? I think if I understand the program correctly, the EVP extends the life of the product? That makes sense at the higher RPM. Using 105, if I dial the speed up too high, it break down almost immediately!!

    Hey Fella's

Sorry, I disagree. paint correction is my specialty and I've been doing it for many years
Nothing is impossible mate, you just have to find a way. So I did.
however I do conduct all sorts of out of the box radical tests just to see what gain I may make from trying them (it usually works too)

I machine buff exterior trim until it becomes gloss black paint like. thats my unique skill and my own products from glass are used to do this

The reason I worked menz 85RD for 16 mins is for R&D purposes, sure there was not much gain at all but it's good to try something different isnt it.

The product I use for paint correction corrects at 600 to 1000 rpm and does it quicker and leaves no swirls unlike 3M and other traditional products which need 1200 to 1750 rpm to do the same job. this is a different abrasive than the common stuff.

I use Menzerna final finishing products (85RD and 87MF) at 600 to 1200 then back down again slowly
There's no need to go to 1500 or above with them unless you want to break them down faster which I don't do. I have plenty of time to do my work.

Another process that I do is to soften the paint and reflow it so that orange peel is reduced by 40 to 98% without abrasives and correction of scratches and swirls can be achieved with a softer pad and a finer abrasive polish with that same correction product.

I usually harden the paint back up by 40% with Gtechniq C1 crystal Lacquer coating.
All other products except the one I use for correction need higher RPM's to do the same thing. There's no 1500 rpm jewelling with this product. just 600 or 900 and stop.

I mean why use a strong compound to remove heavy scratches when the paint can be reflowed and softened so that a ceramic paint becomes as soft as Japanese paint which does not have any Isocyanate hardener in it.

paint correction is becoming old school really, the mechanical buffing way is definately not the way we should be doing it in the next five to ten years. we just have to find a better way. Reflowing the paint on non self healing paint is a way to make it easier but it's still not the best.
