washing between polishes

just wondering if anyone washes the car between polish steps to get rid of dust ? started using 105/205 and they seem to dust up pretty bad

 

I am looking at getting a wool duster to clean up the dust between polishing. Right now I just use some compressed air to blow off the dust on the panels before I start polishing.

 

^ kinda similar but I use a leaf blower, its good at getting all the loose stuff off and gets most of it.

 

Same here, wool duster as I go with a wash when finished polishing if necessary.

I use compressed air.. Works great.

 

I just dampen the wool pad (very lightly mist) before polishing which has virtually stopped the dusting.

 

I wonder if a wookie could work as a duster. That thing is massive, haha.

 

Yes, it'd be fine used dry for that purpose.

I used one at a meet and they are just terrible, too thick for their own good to be honest, THERE IS NOTHING SMOOTH ABOUT A WOOKIE. AN MF wash mitts does a better job cleaning and gliding on paint IMO.

As for washing IF you have to re-wash a car, usually when you have done extensive wool correction etc. and have tons of dust and some dried polish dots than do the wash right after the correction portion is done, never after the finishing polish stage is done.

If you end up slightly marring the finish after the correction its not a big deal as your following and far less messy polishing stages should remove the damage with ease.

 

After using M105, I like to do a quick ONR wash to get rid of all of the residue.
