Guess this is a loaded question. And, I almost asked it on that other forum (see my first post) - I can only imagine what kinf of cr@p I would have heard from that!!?? But, for years, when compounding, I've always placed a few drops of baby oil on my pad - thought it was a pretty common practice. A client saw me do this last week and thought it strange. It, at least in my mind, has always enabled me to work the compound a little longer. And, in Denver and our dry climate, this is especially effective with 105.

Doesn't ever seem to be a problem and removes quite easily with IPA wipedown.

    Any thoughts??

Gloss it's new EVP Pad Prime is oil based and works mint. You're not weird - you're ahead of your time! :)

Hmm, I have never seen or read anyone using baby oil. I have seen people mist the panel with a pad conditioner or some water or a QD but never baby oil.

I talked with Rich for quite a while a few weeks back.I like the idea of a full-line product line! I'm wanting to add a few options to my current LSP lineup. The grey wool seems to work like magic. I've been very pleased thus far with the PFW I've gotten from Phil.

I'm wanting to eventually add to my current LSP lineup of Zymol and Swissvax - thnking even Migiore'. But, GI seems to be coming on pretty strong. And Bob and RIchie Carbone both use it and I have much respect for their work!!

I think Aesop mentioned using mineral oil with Powergloss. From the looks of his results, I'd say there's nothing weird about it at all. :worship2:

Does it help with the dusting of PowerGloss?

It might but most use it when their is no moisture in the air. Learned that years ago.

is this good to use in very hot and/or humid conditions as well, maybe to keep the polish from flashing too fast?

I'm in Denver, very dry. Well, normally very dry. This has always kept dusting down and, for 105, extends working time before flash.

As many know, I've been using Parrafin Oil for over a year now for unlimited working times with polishes

Thank you sir, I do indeed use mineral oil with any Menzerna polish. EVP is going to perform better though.

Not so much to be honest, was using SIP today, and it was still dusting up.

Never thought to use baby oil, that stuff has to be at least 1/3rd the cost of mineral oil.

I cant find parrafin oil here. I believe you said it was made by diggers? No luck. I would guess thats all that EVP is relabeled, or something similiar.

EVP is a bit more than just mineral oil and is probably your best bet.
