so this is the current detail im working on. Its a 2004 i believe Mercedes Benz C240 that belongs to my aunt. I started working on it at 6.30 pm and i stopped just now at 4am(Ive been up since 7am :crasy. Car was filthy and i wanted to get all the claying done so i could experiment with the polishing before hitting the sheets. below is a picture of the trunk that i worked on. I wasnt sure how to start since ive heard benz clear coat is hard and some other people have said its soft  so i just looked at the polishes i had and the pads and made sumthing up  well i want to see if anyone can guess what combo i used to get these results after 1 pass of my PC i have the following pads and polishes Pads (all LC pads): Purple Wool Yellow Orange White Black Blue Polishes: Menz SIP Menz 85rd Menz 106ff Before: After: the full write up will be up as soon as i finish which will hopefully be sometime tomorrow. :goodn:
nice try guys but those arer wrong. i should have said it before its not a mixture of any polishes its just one polish and one pad ill post the answer later if no one gets it
so close and the crazy guess is crazy lol but then again so is the real answer edit: i just realized this has gotten long and I have to get back to work on the car. Amazingly its SIP with an Orange pad. On the damn bottle of SIP it says medium cut. I could not believe my eyes when i saw the finish on the test area with just one good pass of it. thanks for entertaining me guys ill be back later with updates
nope i just posted the answer ^ lol thanks for trying but seriously i couldnt believe my eyes but im also not complaining. greatly shortens my polishing time
ah yes. SIP on orange is what i called my "machine gun" combo. usually takes out mostly everything. its nice you didnt have to follow it up with a refining step though. PO85RD on blue is what i like to call my "sniper". goes in and cleans up the mess and the stragglers. lol im weird.
lol im curious do u play or did u play CS in the past. I only ask because of the terms you used. and dont worry i use weird terms all the time :crasy: and il have to try the "sniper" method on my cars paint . its been really weird to correct 100%
i have played CS in the past from time to time, but was never really heavily into it. the orange/blue and SIP/PO85RD combo is usually killer for the most part. you'll see a lot of people using it. you cant really go wrong with it, that is, unless SIP/orange isnt required and that would just be overkill.
I have no idea what CS is... great results on that paint though! I really like that combo as well. Pretty muchthe most agressive I will get before stepping up to wool and PG.
This was My Guess also^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^:hmph: Weird how much we have in common Aesop :shead:
