Like the title says I'm disappointed with their shipping. Absolutely love their products Most of my products are theirs and I'll continue to use them but man the shipping is ridiculous. Not only is is shipping super expensive but they're so delayed with things. I placed my order on the 26th, of a t shirt, stickers, and 2 128oz containers (Window Cleaner and Silk Shine). I get an email today saying my order has been shipped. so i look at the tracking # thinking "oh maybe it already got to my house." When i look it says its scheduled to deliver on the 4th!!! Looking at the details i saw that they didn't put the request with fed ex until yesterday to ship it out. Has any one else had this problem with them? I have a big detail coming up this weekend andI really needed these products by then but I guess not also should I call and complain? or is this normal from them.
It is a real good chance because of it being summer that they are super busy.Whenever I order cwg I figure on 8 to 10 days to be on the safe side but I have had it show up as soon as five depending on how busy they are.
Its normal for them and most companies. We're pretty spoiled by these sponsors that ship out the same day. A lot of companies I see have a little note at the bottom of the page saying packages will take 2-4 days to be shipped. I live in CA and if I place an order with AG all the way in florida on the same day as I place a CG order, ill get my AG package before. I'd rather order CG products from other distributer to avoid this delay and the huge charges and I have to pay taxes.
I'm glad to see someone with a Legitament Beef post there problems. When I need Chemical guys stuff I usually check detailedimage first as They carry most of the Chemical guys line and I get it the next day .
yeh i always order my CG stuff from them but unfortunately they didn't have the 128oz sizes. i contacted Greg to see if they can start stocking up on those.
Even though Phil ships same day, I usually get things about the same time and pay really high shipping. Part of it is you're shipping heavy items across the country. I get GREAT service from Chemical Guys -- sometimes they take a couple days to ship (which is normal for most of the companies out there) 2 days from Chemical guys to me. Usually over a week to get things from Phil. It's just the distance, dood. If CG opened up a DC on the east coast, you guys would get cheaper, faster shipping. Same with Phil over here. Oh well. I still think we're pretty spoiled.
i know what you mean but it took them almost 4 days just to give it to Fedex to ship out, im not complaining about the time it takes to ship I know how far Cali is. I completely understand them possibly being busy during the summer but if they knew that they would be why not hire some extra people to take care of the orders.
Buy some computer parts from NewEgg, or a book off Amazon, or something from some schlep off eBay. It's NOT the norm for people to ship same day. In rare cases, next day. But if you buy from other retailers/people, they usually do not ship for a couple days. You are spoiled by our vendors and now you expect that from other retailers -- I was disappointed with my first CG order in that regard as well, then I realized that not everyone ships that quickly. Just order a bit earlier than you think next time!:drinking2:
I get CG stuff real fast, usually in the same week it was ordered. If I order on a Monday, I have it by Wednesday. The same goes for Obsessive Detail and Rag Shack. From Phil, usually a week or so, but like Ty said, it is across the country.
I agree about the cross country thing, if I order from Phil I get it the next day just cuz I am basically 100 miles away from him. I just ordered from CG and it took them 1 day to get it sent out, but honestly I am happy to see a detailing company be busy if that is the reason it is delayed then more power to them especially the way the economy has been. And as much as I love DI, CG has some great prices like Pete's 53 is almost $15 dollars less and I will wait a few days to get those savings. .....oh yeah and east coasters rule!!!! :
yeh problem is the intense shipping charges when ordering large quantities :/ but yeh they have better prices.
how long shipping takes depends on where you live. To be honest anything I order from east coast takes about a week to ship. Yes, a week, because I choose ground shipping and simply refuze to pay extra for expedited shipping. Stuff from CG takes about 2 business days to arrive from southern to northern California. Actually right now I don't see shipping issues with CG, when I placed my order 3 or 4 years ago (my first order with them) it took 2 weeks for it to arrive...I was dissapointed, but it is much better right now, but still not as good as forum sponsors...
