Hello! My first post! I want to thank everyone here for turning me on to some new products. I am using some pretty good stuff from Majestic Solutions, specifically EnviroShield. I use it a little differently than most, but that is not the subject of this post. Another good find was the BHAB, and that is the subject of the post. Use it on my black truck and am blown away. My question, specifically, is What Is This Stuff? Not looking for proprietary secrets, but rather, is it amino functional silicone, acrylic, "glass" or some nano carnauba stuff? Just askin' is all...thanks!
The best i can do for you would be to tell you that it is sort of a hybrid sealant/wax. Not one or the other but properties of both. Not a great beader but has some masking abilities. Apply in a 2' by 2' square, or smaller and immediately take off. I had a hard time with the application at first and i have just now kinda gotten it down.
It took me a while to get the application down. If you don't have the application right, it's not going to work very well or even at all. I used it on a moderate-heavy swirled Jeep who just wanted a wax, after 2 coats 90% of everything was covered and it looked fantastic and had great beading. I used it on a Range Rover and waited too long to wipe it off, I don't even think I got anything on there. It didn't really bead after, all it did was feel slick and didn't look that much better but that was my fault. It's one of the best IMO. Before I knew how to use it, I thought it (watch the language please or else!) sucked.
I used two coats when I was testing it. I didn't really have any problems applying or removing it though.
Relax chaps, if D&D doesn't like it for whatever reason, that's fine - the world ain't gonna end tomorrow as a result, and he'll not be the only one not fussed on it. Judging by his avatar, he's a Swiss man - sadly for them, they'll never have me as a user because it's overpriced, just like Zymöl. But hey, Swiss are still in business even without my sales - so it goes to prove it's simply a case of to each their own. Bellers, it's not a hybrid anything - it's a pure out and out sealant, except in the classic form of being a paste type. No carnauba, no banana skins, no coconut, no extracts of "extinct birds" - 100% pure synthetic chemistry.
I actually think Swissvax is overpriced as well and recently sold my Concorso. 9 times out of 10 Im applying a sealant. Guess its time to change that avatar. There we go, changed to what makes all the difference.
PJS - I only called it a hybrid because i really feel it does not give a sealant look but has more sealant properties than wax properties. It sheets water great but doesnt bead great. But doesnt like sterile like a lot of sealants on the market. That was what the hybrid comment was about. Sorry for the confusion.

I wet the applicator(1 mist of water, barely damp), did a small section, about 1/6th of a hood, working in circles and then wiped off after about 10 seconds. Worked very well. I let it sit for about a minute, didn't do anything.
Sorry Nica :sorry: Why not censor the curse words? I'm just curious as to why you would keep them uncensored as every other forum I'm on has censorship of curse words to some degree. I mean absolutely no disrespect, I'm just curious.
Wow..over 700 new posts and I've only been away a few days! I wanted to toss in my experiences with BHAB too. I have tried it on a few cars on which I thought it would benefit. Firstly, the application is not nearly as easy as DG 105 which I compare it too since that's what I use the most. I have also experimented a bit with applying DG 601 UNDERNEATH it. There was no appreciable difference to the look or feel. It would be an interesting experiment to see if it affected longevity. The thing I do like about it is how it seems to darken up black. But, it's lack of ease of use makes it sit on the shelf for the most part. I haven't given up on it entirely, it's just not worth the effort so far. I know my friend JL will think I'm nuts but I have tried it on about 4 or 5 different cars so I think I've given it a fair shake. On metallics, panel by panel comparison with 105 yielded no different look to me...it did not magnify the flake more than 105. What I have yet to do, and may soon, is layer it with 105 on black and see what that looks like. I just did not get blown away by it like I thought I would have and the difficulty of using it was discouraging.
Why should I, Detailing Bliss is open wide and free, you can speak about anything and everything. I simply ask that members respect the forum, it’s rules and all it's members. We are all mature adults, we are all human beings capable of using abundant amount of words I really shouldn't have to say "watch your mouth" around here, that's baby sitting. I didn't start the forum to baby sit and you should have the common courtesy to use courteous words/phrases, we are all capable of communicating properly with out resorting to such foul language. You don't go to a strangers house and start swearing in their house do you? If you do then perhaps you don't belong here at Detailing Bliss, perhaps you should go where such foul language is welcomed and allowed. Now don’t take what I’m saying the wrong way it’s just that it’s common courtesy to speak properly, I was raised up to respect others and to speak properly with out resorting to foul language but that’s just how I was brought but that is how I treat every single member here so that is how I expect all members to behave. I feel I shouldn’t have to censor anything around here.
I find it interesting that a single product can generate so many different views. Is it the next coming of Christ? No. But it definately has a place in my arsenal. I have applied it with a damp sponge (recommended by BH), by spritzing the surface with water and lately have been applying it with a dry applicator pad and no water at all. It does have a learning curve for sure as I've learned but have been able to put it on the entire side of a car and let it sit for 15 minutes before wiping it off with relative ease. As I've shown in the pics I've posted, it does have a great ability to mask light marring typical of poor washing techniques. I think people have bought this because they figured it would "fill scratches". Not a chance. Do I think it presents a better finish than say DG105, as Richy stated? On paint in good shape, no. Its about the same. But on dark colours I haven't found many products that with a single application can match the depth and wetness. Remember guys, its just an LSP.
I'm not saying its a terrible product and people shouldn't buy it. I just think its a little overrated, flavor of the month type of thing. And my opinion has NOTHING to do with its potential masking abilities. In fact, I didn't even test that aspect of it.
I know you weren't bashing it and I was just clarifying my results. At the end of the day it is an LSP like any other LSP. Any paints potential lies within polishing, not LSP choice.
Here, here Brother!!! I am critical of people who get all worked up over their LSP'S...the finish is 90-95% compounding and polishing. People seem to forget that I think.
