    BrendanS Welcome to Detailing

Got the opportunity of detailing an Audi A8 today. This car is owned by the same person who owns the modded 996 turbo I did yesterday. He left the car over night with me and I started around 11:00am and finished closed 6:30pm. Driving this car was amazing, feels like your driving on a cloud. I have a whole new respect for luxury cars now. The steering was so easy and smooth, all in all Audi did an excellent job with this car. Just right now, definitely not the car I would get...specially not with gas prices now. Anyways here are the products and tools used.
    Wash:
    - 2 Bucket Method w/ Grit Guards
    - Proline Grout Sponge
    - Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff
    - Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash

    Clay:
    - Riccardo Yellow Clay
    - Optimum No Rinse Clay Lube Dilution

    Wheels/Tires:
    - Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff
    - Raceglaze XL Wheel Brush (LIFE SAVER ON THESE RIMS)
    - Meguiars Tire Brush
    - Old Sponge cut in half
    - Michaels Paint Brush
    - Gloss-It Signature Tire Gloss

    Interior:
    - Majestic Solutions Leather & Plastic Cleaner
    - Lexol Leather Conditioner
    - Finish Kare 108 Dressing
    - Finish Kare 316 Fabric Sealant
    - Chemical Guys Window Cleaner
    - RagShack Window WW
    - Wal-Mart MFs
    - Autowerkes Exclusive MF Applicator Pads

    Engine Bay:
    - Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff
    - Finish Kare 108 Dressing
    - Autowerkes Exclusive MF Applicator Pads

    Metal Polish:
    - P21S Polishing Soap

    Last Step Protection:
    - Bilt Hamber Autobalm
    - Black Fire Foam Applicator
    - Rag Shack Super Fly Towel

Before I go on with the pictures, I must say I could not have done this detail without my Raceglaze Wheel Brush. My Meguiars Wheel Brush could not have done this good of a job on the rims without taking them off! Now on to the pictures!

    Trunk jamb was filthy!

This was on the metal door trim, it took forever to get it off, I had to pick at it with my nail. Then I got rid of the glue residue with some IPA

This detail took a lot longer than I imagined. The car was massive though, it was to long to park in the garage. The garage door couldn't even close! Anyways, just thought I would share. Let me know what you think! I tried to document it a bit better than my previous ones.

    Thanks for looking, Brendan

great work on the car, I really enjoyed the detail! I like Audi, I really do, but those wheels must be a pain to work on, so many spokes...Anyway, have you checked this tire? From what I can see in a picture, looks like a bubble, which might cause that tire to explode. I suggest you notify the owner immediately, and have him check it out, mistakes like that might be VERY COSTLY...

Thanks for the compliment! I did notice the tire and the owner knew. He's switching the spare back to there. And replacing the tire. The rims were a real pain to work on, but it made me appreciate the Raceglaze XL Wheel Brush so much more!

Wow, Look at you go...Your write up is pretty near perfect and the high end cars you are already working on is just unbelievable. You sure did a most awesome job on this one too and from what I gather everyone else feels the same way about you sure have found your calling. You sure have good ethics and alot of class and your product line quality has grown. Don't stop now. If you ever need any help. I would be happy to help but I think you will be helping me first...lol...:thumb:

    Hang in there X,

Thanks! I have quite a few people interested but I have to schedule them in. So far it looks like a Cayenne Turbo, Mercedes Benz R Class (same owner as this + 996 turbo) , an Audi A4, and a few G35s and 300ZX

Thanks David! I'm just trying to get my name out, for now and so far it's working. When he picked up this car he came in an R class benz with his brother in law and his brother in law wants his A4 done. It's insane how quickly this can grow! I'm really stoked about the results so far! If I need help with anything I'll let you know! Thanks for all the support, I'm glad to have you back on here.

For someone to detail two cars the way you have is awesome. To do it at your age is even better. I sincerely hope you start and register yourself as a business because you are doing well. 7.5 hours is great.

I love your camera skills as well. It's because of you I'm going to Henry's today to educate myself on some DSLRs :).

my god, i jsut looked at the pictures again and you truly amaze me at this. How much is your inventory of products? I've spent a lot on my inventory over the years, but I don't have a lot of the signature stuff you have. I'll keep a lot of this in mind when I reorder everything, but for now I'll be using what I have.

I wanted to give you a tip (not because I think I'm better than you, but things you could do to make things easier on you).

    - Go to home depot and pick up a box of Nitrile Blue Gloves to protect your hands and skin when your washing the engine, claying, washing the car even, it keeps those solvents away from your skin and from a distance looks more professional (a neat perk lol).\

You'll avoid this a little more:

Very nice job and writeup. I just did an A8L myself and this car is NOT a compact car.

Thanks! Much needed haha, I'll go pick some up

Thanks! Honestly my camera skills are no better than anybody else. I just chose my camera carefully. I didn't want a DSLR as their to big and the camera I use is shared with between the family. The camera is pretty much as close as you get to a DSLR in a point and shoot, 10X zoom and 9.1MP. It has a manual mode that I use when I take pictures on the tripod. I'm not saying don't get a DSLR, but if you just want crisp clear pictures out of a point and shoot pick up a tripod. Set the ISO rating as low as it'll go and use a self timer. Everytime you push the button to take a picture the camera shakes a bit, causing noise in the pictures. So I use a 2 second self timer and 10 second self timer for the during shots im in. Good luck! Thanks for the compliments as well, I'm looking to do this on the side. But business is actually pretty decent so far, lots of people interested.

Thanks! Definitely not, the luxury factor in these is nuts though. I love them!
