This car was in fairly good shape, but had not been waxed in over a year, there was heavy dirt build up behind the wheels faces (never been cleaned) but over all the car was not that big of a job to tackle. This is the guys wife's car, he wanted to use it as a tester before he let me do correction on his Porsche Cayman... Products Wash -Glimour Foam Master II -Optimum car wash -Uber sponge Clay -clay magic blue -Optimum no rinse as lube Wax -Pinnacle Souveran Dressings -Tires with Meguiars endurance gel (this stuff is great and smells like grapes!) -Megs all season dressing on all exterior plastics -mothers mag aluminum polish on exhaust - stoners on windows How it looked when he dropped it off dirty dirty dirty looks like the tires haven't been dressed or protected in a long time either. P21s doin work, as well as MEGS APC+ 4:1 on the tires and wheel wells I swear this stuff was sent from heaven after the wheels received a cleansing I moved onto the engine bay, hit it up with MEGS APC+ 4:1 and various brushes, used an engine dressing spray from autozone and ran the car for about 10 minutes with the hood closed. before after (sorry no wash pics) the sun was beating down and I needed to get it done quick. Next up after dryin her off was claying. For this car I chose Clay Magic blue. Let me tell you that this stuff did a fantastic job, the paint really felt smooth and I was happy with how durable this stuff was. After the hood only. passengers side. drivers side/rear Than it was waxing time. I was feelin spunky so I chose to do 2 coats of this stuff. wax on. wax off and afters. this was my first write up ever, hope it didn't suck too much haha. It looks fantastic. I especially loved the motor shots. This engine dressing stuff is stuff I'm going to pick up when I reorder my supplies. A few follow-up questions: 1) did you protect anything or cover anything under the hood when detailing, and was a pressure washer involved? 2) The souveran coats, was it apply, wipe off, then apply at first spot and wipe off? I guess I'm asking was there any curing time?
the engine coating was just the CD2 spray from autozone, and I covered up the alternator and both terminals on the battery with tin foil. the pressure was just the regular water pressure out of the garden sprayer. and the souveran coats...I would apply to each panel and wipe off immediatly since souveran wax does not dry to a haze. there was a one hour gap in between coats. If you have anymore Q's just let me know.
I was using a Nikon D40 and that was with my shitty 15-55 lens, I hate that thing haha it came with the camera, but it's all I have for upclose shots.
Vehicle looks great, well done :thumb: I enjoyed your write up well done. As for the 15-55 lens (kit) don't knock it, it's actually a really good lens to get started. I my self use it from time to time, there are far superior lenses out there but the kit lens is always fun to go back and play with, it's good to have options
