Anyone have a problem with Grit Guards not fitting in the bottom of buckets from Walmart or Lowe's?? I've got a few of these and they just wont go to the bottom. Its a PITA. I took one and cut it down to fit better. Still just a pain though. I hated cutting that GG.

Heath - yes, same problem here with my clear (well, translucent) bucket from Lowe's. There's a good four inches between the bottom of the GG and the bottom of the bucket. Pretty annoying, so I just use it as a rinse bucket.

hmm I have clear ones that say Leaktite on it and have no issues with GG staying at the bottom.

Same problem here, I have yet to find a bucket locally that the GG will go all the way to the bottom..

This is the bucket I got from Home Depot that fits the GG. It stays on the bottom and there is no space between the bottom of the GG and bottom of the bucket.

I'll check out the Home Depot bucket, thanks Ankeet.

So, we have to go to Lowe's for the "right" grout sponge, and Home Depot for the "right" bucket. This is becoming too much like work.

I've had the same problem. The lowes buckets taper off at the bottom for some odd reason. I wound up using it as a tool bucket instead.

I use the same buckets with no problems with the GG.

I hate that in general when it comes to those two stores. As a matter of fact, I had to go to both places this past weekend.

they are different buckets thats why they dont fit. Im sure someone else could tell you the names of them but that is the answer.

I have some buckets from Pepboy's and the GG fits in those nicely.

I got mine really far down into my bucket from Lowe's... I think it's there permanently now :( I'll have to get that bucket from HD. HD is like 20 minutes away and Lowe's is 2 minutes away, damn it.

Picked up two buckets from Menards with their logo on the side for $2.58 ea. No problem with the fit.

I noticed the lowe's buckets didn't fit mine, but also the home depots did not go all the way fully to the bottom either. There is still a good 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch left of room which might look like it fits but I was thinking the grit guard doesn't work unless the bottom portion of the bucket is fully stabilized by the blades of the guard.

It doesn't fit in one of my buckets but I never even thought it would stop it from working right. Maybe I should get a new one now.

:shead:Doesn't fit at all, or just not to the bottom?

Go the the bakery in Walmart. Ask them for their empty icing buckets. The GG fits those 5 gallon buckets perfectly. Plus the bakery has smaller buckets too. All free,
