I did a minor paint correction detail on this 2004 Acura TSX last weekend. Started off as usual with my hot soap pre soak as you can see this does a great drop of helping all of the dirt run off. After washing the engine and 2BM washing the vehicle I clayed the entire vehicle. To my surprise this vehicle had very little contamination. Clayed the wheels too. After all this work my bay became very dirty so I decided to pull the vehicle out and wash everything down. You cant detail a car proporly without a clean work space Since I had the vehicle pulled out I decided to pull it outside and inspect the paint. As you can see the paint was in quite bad shape. However since honda clear is so soft I felt confident that the defects could be removed. All taped up and ready to be polished. Since this was only a 1 step polish, I wanted something that would remove the defects but finish down nicely. Well since I just got a nice order from Autowerks Exclusive i though this would be a perfect time to use Menzerna Power Finish 203 with a yellow sonus pad. truck lid before 50/50 and after Licence plate area was bad too. I used a 4' white lake country pad with 203 before and after I polished the 3M film. However, it was in really rough shape so did not come back 100% before and after, as you can see, not perfect, but i did not want to polish it too much and risk burning it. Well that is all the during shots I took since I was on a tight sceduel. After polishing I applied duragloss 601 to the entire car. After hazing over a applied duragloss 105 right over top. Left for 20 mins and buffed off. After buffing I tried out a sample of duragloss fast clean and shine that Ken sent me. Wow what a great product, it increased the slickness and brough out the shine even more. Thanks Ken! I managed to snap a few afters to hear is the finished product. Pardon the wax residue in the pic. It was wipped off after. Drove the vehicle back to the customers house and delievered the vehicle to another happy customer. Total time spent on this vehicle was 11.5 hours. Thanks for looking!
Thanks guys, I never thought that it was that impressive, but I guess that I am just used to it. It is actually located in a corperate office where I rent the bay. Great deal for me and the propery managment company
You brought it back very nicely, quick question, Why did the customer choose a 1 step? was it budgetary reason, or did they not find value in have you refine the paint for that little bit more pop?
I felt that it only needed a minor paint correction, which it did. Keeps the cost down for the customer which is really important to me.
That makes sense! That car came out great, I love red and black because they look soo good polished up, again nice job!
Car looks great, it was really sad to see it in its before shape..really rough. I'm sure the customer will be telling all their friends and you will have many more customers from this.
Looks great, nice turn around. I need to get me some 203. Also love the wash bay. One day I can get something like that
