This M5 belongs to one of my weekly maintainance clients. I've been fortunate to have been cleaning this car since new. Last year I spent over 30 hours on this car. The damage this car has sustained in 12 months will make you cry. You've been warned. The car was booked in for a Protection Detail and Two Stage Polish. Terence was available so I asked him to come out and help with this. I wanted to try a few new products as well...the Scholl polishes I got from Pirex and the Gloss-it sealants.

Engine was cleaned with AG Powermax3
    Doorjambs cleaned with AG Powermax3
Tires, wheels and inner fenders cleaned with AG Custom Wheel Cleaner
Washed with RaceGlaze Aqua Bathe and RG Washmitt
    Clayed with Riccardo Blue
Terence and I split the polishing duties. He worked with Menz polishes (Power Finish/85RD) and various LC pads and I was working with the Scholl polishes ( S03+ and S40) and Gloss it pads.
Lsp was Gloss-It Gloss Finish x2 and Gloss-It Concorso Gloss x1
Tires dressed with Gloss-It Signature Tire Gloss
Exterior glass polished with Rain Science Glass Scrub and LC white pad on Flex
Leather was cleaned and conditioned with Duragloss

Total time - approx 18 hours

Yes the fuel filler area always looks this clean

THis is the dirtiest part of the car and it was only dusty.

Car was mainly covered in carwash damage. Two weeks after I detailed it last year he had it in for a little bit of bodywork and they washed it. Once. And completely undid all my work! This 50/50 is off ps fender.

car looks very nice, great job on the polishing, did you have to work it with the 85RD for a while? or did it polish out easily? i have a friends bmw i have to do and im wondering if the paint will put up a fight lol

No issues at all. Actually, the paint came up so nice with the Power Finish Terence was using and the Scholl S03+ I was using that the finishing polish was just to add a bit of bling as no hologramming was present, even after the scratch removal.:thumb:

Very nice work Ken :thumb: but at the end wich finishin products work better for u especially in that type of paint scholls or Menzerna?

    Beautiful.

The Imola Red E39 M5 that I did last year remains my favorite car I've ever worked on. They're stunning.

Looking good Ken, well done. The E39 M5 is still one of my all time favourite motor cars :headbang:

What do you usually use on the trim btw Ken ?

Actually both were very easy to work with. The Menz left a slightly brighter finish with the Scholl leaving a slightly deeper, wetter finish.

I didn't. Each coat was applied and removed then the next applied right away. I let the Concorso sit for a few hours though. Seems to add some more wetness if you let it sit or apply it with a machine.

Actually, I don't dress trim unless its faded out or in bad condition. I prefer the natural look of the trim if its in good shape. For trim thats faded, I like PB Trim Restorer and Gloss-it TRV. I've got both on my van right now so we'll see if they run as its pouring rain out.

Ken..the Bimmer looks fantastic!! If you had to choose one, Menz or Scholl? You described the difference in an earlier post..I was just wondering what your preference was? What is Terrence's? The shots to my untrained eye look the same on each side..is the difference miniscule or noticeable? Sorry for all the questions, but it'll take a hell of a product to unseat Menzerna as the King in my books!! BTW, I just got some power finish and used it the 1st time on that s class I did and it is a very nice product..versatile too depending on pad usuage.
