hes been unveiled as michael schumacker im not convinced. i always had thoughts it was damon hill. i dont think the bbc would be that daft to unveil the stig as thats one of the biggest things talked about " who is the stig? "
I dont think it is Michael as well, at the end of show were he was driving the resonantly priced car and Clarkson said or maybe he is not kind of says that he is not. Also the FXX was his as there are very few FXX's that are black and his is the only one that does not have the white stripe I think. To be honest probably the only one that could convince Ferrari to let them take it out on a non-Ferrari race and was probability somewhere in the negotiations between BBC and Ferrari that MS had to drive it. I think it was pretty cool that he was on the show and how the FXX blew away the previous records, not really a road car so idk if it should go on the wall BUT can go over a speed bump I think. Still think that it was a big ploy to get the attention away from Ben, who I think it really is. Also MS was named as a special guest in the credits and separately from "The Stig"
I'm also sure it was just set up in order to have him there to drive the FXX. Also on the note of the FXX being MC's: Great episode though :applause2:
Just watched this episode last night. The end lap with the stig in the reasonably priced car was done to confuse the viewers. We've never seen the stig do a power lap in that car. We also know that the stig takes different lines than the F1 drivers, so we are unable to make a comparison.
The reason MS was the Stig on last weekends episode is because Ferrari wouldn't let the one of many "real" stigs (BBC has a few different Stig's due to scheduling--it's not just one person) track the FXX. So they "revealed" him to help silence the BS. If you watched the whole episode, it was implied that he wasn't the real stig when he couldn't drive the reasonably priced car, or stick, for that matter. (as the "real" Stig has set the fasted time ever in the reasonably priced car). TopGear fanboi guilty as charged
TopGear is the shit! I agree with d00t, Ferrari wanted MS to drive the FXX as i said earlier. Plus its Top Gear, you know they would never reveal the stigg its there trademark...this season is going to be another good one I have that feeling!
There was an interview on BBC World Service with the producer of Top Gear. I only caught the tail end of the piece, but the gist of it was that they did this on purpose. Is The Stig really Michael Schumacher? Was it just a cameo? Is he only occasionally The Stig? Nobody definitively knows. At least, that's the idea. He also said that they used to call new boys at the school he [the producer] went to as a young boy "stig." That's where the name comes from.
i just saw the clip and before the Stig is "revealed" hes sitting down and if youve watched many episodes of top gear like i have u can tell this isnt the real stig just from the way hes sitting and moving lol the real stig would not sit with his leg up or move his arms that much plus as someone said the stig and MS were listed separately in the credits. As another Top Gear fanboi i refuse to believe this lol
There are other black FXX but no other FXX that is black without the white FXX stripe. He is also the only one to actually "own" it, meaning he can keep it at his house.
