    Hi Guys,

Well, well, what a day I have had playing about with the Festool polishers, most enjoyable I must say.

Absolutely love the Shinex and the Rap 80 (baby polisher), can't fault either machine so far, tomorrow I will be detailing a Porsche, so we will see what tomorrow brings..

This is what I have been trying them out on today...

i agree with you guys. The new festool shinex is perfect, but i prefer the sound of Makita 9227CB. We had the oportunity to test it during cwwc2009 which is one of the biggest wax-tests in the world.
I would like to buy the small one. Paul can you please give us some feedback?

yes very nice but will all the current pads an backing plates from the makita work with these?

also who will be selling them here in the usa?

an will they last are they strong an powerful like the makita an pc?

    thanks PD

The shinex is a very good machine. I tried it yesterday at a festool dealer.

You can use the 3M Adapters and also with the small pads. The only thin i dont like is the power plug. I liked the version from the rotex better.

The shinex is very good but in europe it costs about 600eur

Yup, got some pricing from the local agents here and the Shinex is 3 times the price of a Makita....Crazy IMHO

i bought mine for 466 EUR with the case, 2 pads, 2 bottles of polish (which look like menzerna), one bottle of detailing spray (looks and smells like dilluted Meg's APC) and some wet sanding paper.
My friend payed for his shinex 600 EUR in Germany. The small one costs 361 EUR but i still don't know if its worth this money.

    Hello Paul,
whats now the result of your comparison between the Makita and the Shinex?
Did you now change your Makita into a Shinex?

    Regards
