I guess if there is a silver lining, you can claim this as a Comprehensive claim on your insurance. Theoretically your deductable should be lower, and it won't count as a claim... Vandelisim rarely does that I've seen...

So sorry to here this,I agree with ReeferBob.You could get away with making a Claim under Vandalism and it won't affect your Rate.

You could probally end up Making a little jack if you can find someone to do it for straight cash, kinda depends on what your deductible is:shead:

Regardles this sucks ass...Maybe now would be a good time to hone your skills at wet sanding, it couldn't hurt at this point.:chips:

 

Sadly this isn't the first time someone has vandalized this car.

However I just got back from a friend's body shop and they quoted me $500 to fix the damage. They'll repaint the entire hood, blend the edges, and paint my washer nozzles the same color as the hood.

Made the appointment with the body shop today. It's going in on the 29th and I'll have it back on the 1st. I get it back just in time to do a show on the 3rd...LOL

Is it some kind of "thing" to vandalize GTOs, or have you been just really unlucky?

Either way, you have to see the positive. If there were any stone chips on the hood, they'll be gone. And, since you mentioned the nozzles, I'm guessing the standard ones are not body color, so that'll make a nice cosmetic upgrade. And you can claim the whole deal on your insurance.

With a detailer's eye, I know you'll spot ANYTHING out of place with the work the body shop does, and call them on it.

Freshly painted hood means no rock chips. That is until I head to Dayton, OH in July.

 

This may sound kinda ridicolous, but when I go on road trips I Tape off the front end to avoid chips.I get crazy looks but come to think about it thats nothing new...lol :chips:

Nope, you're not even the first person that I've heard does this. Was thinking of picking up the Colgan bra for road trips ONLY.
