    Hello all, :kilt:

Im in the market for a water tank for my mobile detailing business.. I went to a local manufacturer and they gave me an option on gallons. I was also warned about going too big and how it can affect the vehicle as far as swaying, gas, suspension, etc, just the obvious I guess you can say.

Well for all peeps with experience what would be the best size as far as gallons. They have 15gallons, 25, and 50 that I was looking at. I do probably a wash or two a day and Im concern about how much space it would take up on the bed of the truck and If the water would would last after 2 or 3 washes.

Do you guys think a 25 gallon tank would be okay???? The only reason Im trying to stay away the 50 gallon is because of the size of the tank but if 50 is ideal I kinda have no choice.

    Thanks in adance

Must be pimp to have a RollsRoyce with a trailer as your detailing setup...

lol.. no trailer I just need to fit a water tank in the back seats. I have the drophead coupe so I can just leave the top down to make it fit. jk

uh, putting a water tank in the back of a car??? 25 gallons really isn't a lot of water, especially if you have a really dirty vehicle... I've used 50 gallons on one truck, 75 on a hummer

I use 100 gallons on nearly every vehicle I do. The nunber of gallons per minute your pressure washer flows will be a huge factor in deciding which tank to use. Mine flows 4 gpm so I burn through 100 gallons in no time. Most Home Depot/Karcher style pwashers will only flow 1.7 - 2.3 gpm so 50 gallons will be ok for one car, maybe two if you don't waste any water but only one full size truck.

Can not really offer much help but just a thought, try to get a cheap water meter (I am sure you can get one) and put it on the hose and see how much you go through washing a few cars and that is how much water you need. Add a little to that avg. for a little insurance.

Thanks for the useful advice guys. :headbang: . Yeah maybe finding out how much gpm my pressure washer give out will help with my decision a lot. I just really never noticed how much water I use per car..

Now I'm tempted to get a 100 gallon tank but I just don't know how my chevy s10 long bed with only 4 cyl would take it. I know its gonna kill my gas mileage but I'm concerned about how it will drive, she might go slower than she is going now; imagine a 4 cyl long bed pulling an extra couple pounds on the bed, THAT IS SLOWWW.. :gasp:

Keep in mind - even if you get a large tank, you don't have to fill it all the way up.

just make sure you mount it over the axle... also there are shocks you can get that you fill with air that will help with the sagging... and driving.

I would go with at least a 75 gallon tank
