I wanted to ask you guys what is the best 2 step Polish for a Black Cadillac Escalade and Black GMC Sierra truck. Is GM Paint considered hard or soft. I was thinking Menzerna Intensive and Final what are your guys suggestions? I also wanted to ask what are your recommendations for wax. Something not too expensive but that is recommended for black finishes with great shine. Thx. I just placed a couple orders for some products from ADS, DD, PB and my local Paint supply shop. With all the choices for polish and wax I wanted to see your guys recommendations before I make my purchase for those products. Rich
i always swear by menzerna. not sure with the gmc paints as ive not yet had a play but i wouldnt get anything to aggressive if it is soft. menzerna intensive polish (PO85RD 3.02) menzerna final finish(PO106FA) if the paint isnt to bad this is fantastic to use. as for waxes im sure dod juice is getting about in the states now and depending on your budget either look at the purple haze wax or imo i would use supernatural wax as this has the highest carnuba content from dodo. follwed by there red mist spray will have them looking awesome.:thumb:
You can also try Menzerna Power Finish with a white pad. It has enough bite and it finishes nicely, so you might not need a second pass with a finishing polish. Hey Rich, are you in the Inland Empire?
ScottB, I was thinking the same and going with Menzerna. I will be sure to do a test area before I do the complete cars. Vehicles are in pretty good shape both are 2008's. I will do some research and check out Purple Haze and Supernatural. What are others people's experience with these 2 waxes. I want to make sure I purchase the right lsp for the job and although I would love to have an lsp collection like some of you guys I really don"t care to spend all the $.
DetailDoc, Thanks for the input. I see you are in Riverside. I live in SB up by Calstate. Nice to see other locals from the IE.
Menzerna SIP via orange pad (Detailersdomain pads), then PO85rd via blue pad wax: Lusso Oro for the money hands down
Very cool! I am not aware of anyone else on DB who is from around here. I love this stuff. It is absolutely my favorite LSP in the looks department. Application however has a learning curve and can be a PITA.
I hear its a challenge. Looking forward to being able to apply a lsp thats a great product that not everyone can or wants to do.
Guys, Thanks for all the advice. I still have not made my decision on what polishes to purchase yet. I think I'll wait a week before I take the plunge. Keep the information going. Yukon 22, What products and pads do you used on your GMC?
