Im curious as to what most of your opinions are for the best paint cleaner for the price?Im looking for a cost effective paint cleaner that i can use when i dont feel like polishing.I liked KAIO but it would give me bonding issues at times depending on what waxed i used.It hated Collinite 845 and would give me all kinds of issues.

Prime is good and it comes in many 'flavors'.

I have heard great things about DG501 but have only used it a few times myself. P21S is under $20 and you shouldn't have any bonding issues with anything. Werkstat primes($25) are nice as well and because they are sealant based, you should be good to go with any Nubas.

DG 501, CGs Vertua Bond and the Werkstatt Prime Acrylic are my weapons of choice.

I have the P21S and a sample Vertua Bond that I got from FMINUS. I like the Vertua Bond much better :)

    no vote for SRP?

  12. Not to thread jack, but do you use a paint cleaner in between full compound/polish details or after a polish to insure correct bonding or what?

Just a quick point.. DG 501 is not really a paint cleaner, it is a marine sealant that happens to have some really good cleaning agents.. I would call it more of an AIO... Klasse AIO is not really a "paint cleaner" either.

I have always thought an AIO should have some polishing ability, even if minimal...501 doesnt have any

Some products "polish" via mechanical means (abrasives) while others polish via chemicals. 501 "polishes" with the latter. Klasse AIO does not contain any abrasives either

501 cleans the paint and lays down a substantial layer of protection so in my mind that fits the bill of on AIO. Whatever you wanna call it iot sure isn't just a "paint cleaner". Only reason I point this out is that if you end up using 501 thinking it's just a paint cleaner and then put a coat of another sealant on top, all of those polymers curing (cross-linking) at the same time could (not proven) have an adverse effect.

i think this is why i ran into bonding issues.hence why im looking for a good paint cleaner. Iv have good experiences with Pinnacles paint work cleansing lotion and P21s but id rather be able to buy in bulk that wont attack my wallet if thats possible

Not sure about this Jason as far as the curing/cross linking issues. I've used DG 501 under just about every sealant I've used and on virtually every detail I do and have never had an issue with bonding or durability, if anything it seems to enhance/prolong durability. And it does clean as is evidenced on the pads after a strong wash and clay. Now it is not just a paint cleaner like say P21s but it does clean the snot out of paint.

Yeah, like I said I have no proof that this is true but just thinking out loud that multiple products cross linking at the same time can create an environment that the product was not created to endure...

Just to play devils advocate, How would one know if it did create durability issues unless a controlled study was done. I mean, I seriously doubt it will cause catastrophic effects but, unless half a car was done one way and the other half done another way there really is no way to know for sure.

And buddy, I am right there with you on the cleaning powers of the product.
