I had only one small area of my car that needed actual correction this year: the trunk and rear spoiler. I was originally going to buff it out with 151 on half, then 205 on half, but instead I grabbed the bottle of 203.

One application of 203 was all it took to both correct and finish down *almost* LSP ready. There were no defects, swirls, or holograms remaining, so if that is your criteria for an LSP ready finish, it was. However, it didn't quite achieve the gloss level of a true finishing polish. Close, but not quite. I followed up one half of the trunk with PO85RD and there was a noticeable difference. But for the amount of correction that 203 can do, it's amazing it can finish off as well as it does. It *almost* has the bite of SIP, and *almost* the finishing ability of 85RD. Pretty impressive stuff.

So would D151 and PO85RD finish well??

It probably would, but if I'm not mistaken D151 has a LSP blended into the product which would need to be removed before the PO85RD is used (Kinda' pain in the butt process).

I'm guessing that M205 is basically D151 minus the LSP :shead:

Would u think you could top a LSP over D151??

Are you wanting a one step polish, where you top it with an LSP? Or are you looking for a one step Polish, that has protection in it? (No topping)

I agree with others, Power Finish is a good polish. Then top with whatever you please.
I have been using Megs #66 for some time now. Never had a problem with it. I know 151 is superior to it, but I have yet to try it. So I cannot comment on it.

One step that will be LSP ready. Does m66 remove much of swirls or other defects?

It depends on the clear. Some vehicles, it will mar with a green LC pad, and some, finish off nicely.

I find the 3M Extra Fine Cut on a 3M yellow polishing pad to work excellent results, LSP ready. Use Duragloss 105 as topping and your good to go !

I'm going to buy D151 as I have a few cars of volume to do....

But 203 does take a long time to flash :thud:

how much d151 should you use per 2x2? I was using it on rotary and it was doing really nice I thought. But I wasnt sure if it was supposed to be like ultrafina/M80 oily and then wipe the panel off or more of a dry buff type once the pad is primed? thanks

I was using the w66 BP and the grey/black LC, I also tried m105/orange with the w66 and it felt great but the cut didnt seem to be all that. comments welcome

I use roughly the same amnt of 151 as I would 205 for a 2x2 area. prime the pad and a quarter sized dot works for me.

+1 on the 151 though! A gallon for $35 cant be beat and the stuff works wonders!

and yes, you can apply lsp after it, I readily use MG #26 as LSP after a quickie with 151 PRC.

You technically dont need it after the 151, but I and my customers really like the gloss of #26 :]

Is there bonding issues with LSPs though after using 151?

Folks may find of interest Tim Lingor's review of D151.

I have not heard any complaints about topping 151 with the sealant/wax of one's choice, though I suspect that many who have chosen to use it professionally simply use it as a All-in-One step.

There is a learning curve with Meguiar's new SMAT polishes. Optimal use may require some changes in one's technique, so I read and have been told.
