We have a 2001 Ford Expedition in the family and even though I'm 6'4" I still have friggin problems reaching the top of it. Are there any safe telescopic wash medians I can use? I don't feel safe bringing a ladder that close to the paint nor standing on the bumper when its wet.

Top of the tire? That's what I usually find myself doing when I don't want to get a step ladder close, and it has a roof rail to hold onto. Mind you, I'm rather gumbyish and hop up on the tire really easily, some people might have a harder time.

Even so I don't think I could reach far enough. I know they make some sheepskin extension poles, there's one on ADS.

Just use a 3 or so step ladder mate. I wouldn't trust something on a brush as you really can't get around the racks and suck on top.

I have a couple telescoping ends though. Ill have to look for a name or something on them, forgot where I got them. I use them when I do semis, along with ladders/scaffolding.

Yeah tall SUVs are a pain in the ass. Just use a ladder, but be careful.

I use the TW chenille mop to clean my van top. Not too sure how safe is it but it is cheap and the head can be replace at a low cost.

That looks pretty promising Texas. Any slippage on it when you're washing? How much did it run you?

no slipping. I like that you can walk side to side on it. Get to do more of the roof before getting down. Whereas with a ladder, you go up and down. You can pick them up from Lowes or Home Depot. They run around $40ish... give or take. Just don't walk off the end of it and put your foot in your wash bucket.......

Haha true, do they make longer ones than the one you purchased?

Wow that looks awesome. I might pick up two of those next week, one for each side.

No, I don't think they make longer ones.
That's my old T-Blazer. Been gone for quite some time now. Just an old pic I had.

I do find that these are a tad short to reach the center of Hummer H2's. But other than that, I cannot live without it.

Yeah, TB posted this before and and my wife got me one last year for my b-day. I have an Acadia which it comes in very handy on. With the current size it is, you can still one hand it when moving to the other side. You might be able to find a longer one, but then you're looking at 2 hands for moving it. This way I can have the hose/wash mitt/bucket/whatever in one hand and pick the platform up with the other to move to the other side. I haven't had any slippage issues with it and it's very sturdy.
