    How similar are these?

I have Pete's 53 and am about to get the Souveran and on the way home I asked myself if the two are comparable enough that I may not really need to Souveran

    Any help would be appreciated!

Thats a great question that I would also like to hear the answers to. I have used the Petes and with the buy one get one free sale on AG I picked up two souverans, but hadn't had a chance to use it yet

I have used both, actually side by side test on the hood on my black vette. Souveran is easier to use, has nore depth, better shine, and wetness. I do have it over wdgs on my Maxima, didnt really enhace the look on there either.

I've used both and consider Pete's to be a step above Pinnacle Signature Series II and a step below Souveran. Asphalt pretty much nailed it but I do think Pete's has better durability.

I would agree with you about durability. My maxima still beads after using Petes back in May, only have washed maybe 3 times since than and it is still holding up. The Souveran is on my vette which has never seen the rain, but from just sitting in the garage aftera week you can see souveran loses a little of its glow. There are no windows in the garage so it isnt from the sun that souveran loses some of its glow. That is why the next time I wax it will be with swissvax mystery.

Whooaaa I bet the Vette is shaking with anticipation of that. I just told my Stealth and now he's jealous!

5050 will give you similar look to Souveran...but not Pete's 53...

I have not yet used Souveran, but have been impressed with Pete's '53. It's easy on, easy off, but have found that you need an MF with a bit more "bite" than my favorite yellow/black MF to take it off when applying in humid areas of the country.

Lasts for a good amount of time, which is important for me. Souveran apparantly does not.

CGs 5050 is a great replacment for Souveran. And it lasts longer.

Souveran is still one of my favorite paste waxes. But like I said before, it acts more like a glaze in terms of application/removal/appearance/durability than a paste wax

I did, I think they're at work somewhere. I wasn't in the office on Friday so I couldn't get my grubby hands on 'em...

I have used both and imo souveran looks better IF u like a deeper/wetter shine. If you are looking more bling and sheen 53 is the one

I agree with what has been mentioned already. Petes 53 is nice but Souveran gives more depth and wetter look to the paint. But it is not as durable as petes 53. However I do find that 50/50 paste wax provides a similar depth and wetness to souveran, and it also lasts longer than souveran and just as easy to apply and remove.

or you could save 40 bucks and get lusso oro and get better depth, shine, durability and w/e else you want cuz that is the best wax BESIDES swissvax

Souveran definatly has a deeper shine than Lusso. The thing w Lusso is the price and also the give in depth makes up in durability.

IMO Lusso is my 53 replacement.

ive noticed that too...ive been using 53 alot lately unless i get a flat dark color...then ill go with souveran

but 53 is impressive to me...i want to try the 50/50!

ps for those who have JS...i said to Paul "so if i did 2 layers of JS and then top it with 53...what do you think?" -----he said "THAT WOULD BE PERFECT"

    and so far so good!

I ended up deciding to hold off on the souv... I mean if they are pretty close why fill space in my aresenal with a redundant product.

Thanks for those that took the time to help!

I feel the same way. i don't like having too many products, usually ill just get 'the best' and 'the most cost effective' for myself. I'm sure souveran is still good, but i'm kinda weary on the fact that i spent $80 for it...

...so i think ive read that souveran is suppose to be compared to destiny? or something like that...anyone have any comments about that claim?
