I have dodo juice blue velvet that i use on my space grey 3 series bmw.... is it good to apply this hard wax by hand or should i keep applying it with a foam applicator pad? Also if i dont polish my car is it good to use a sealant like Jetseal 109 by CG after claying and before waxing????

    Thanks!

It's really whatever you fancy. Doing it by hand is a bit more "exotic" but it makes absolutely no difference. If you have rough hands and you're working on BMW jet black, you've got an issue on your hands. It'll be a bit safer with a foam applicator.

Yes, you can use Jetseal even if you have not polished, after claying and before waxing.

The soft waxes in the Dodo range can be applied by hand with ease, but with the hard waxes, an applicator will do the trick.

I often layer on a sealant, and once it has cured, apply wax. Paint, whether corrected or not, will benefit from a layer of protection.

Awesome! thanks guys! Hostage- after the sealant has cured you buff it off before applying wax right?

Correct, take off that sealant and lay on that wax!

    Good luck!

I personally enjoy applying wax by hand, it's a great feeling...well I call it manhandling the vehicle, I personally enjoy applying wax by hand. However, depending on the clear coat you may have no choice but apply via applicator...in all honestly both methods work fine, see what works for you try it out and stick to what works for you.

Blue velvet is wicked hard...i love applying it because its almost impossible to apply too thick...get you a foam applicator and you will love the app process.

As hostage said, sealant then wax. That way your car will still have some protection when the wax is gone in 6-8 weeks. I'm with Carlos. If I have the time. I like to apply wax by hand because its just cool. Most times however it gets done with a foam applicator pad.

I also feel like I use MORE product when applying by hand then with an applicator pad.
