Hi everbody first of all, i'am from quebec so, sorry if my english is not the best! I had a couple a question. 1; Does Some canadian place sold dodo juice stuff. (purple haze wax, lime prime, straigh 8pot kit) I already ask chris at eshine and said not for the moment. I thinck of use menzerna product, but i'm confuse with there ceramic clear coat stuff. 2; does product that is desing as ceramic polish can be use as good on standard clear coat with the same result. 3; a have a 2009 black vw rabbit, does it have standard or ceramic clear? 4; i'm planning to buy menzerna product wich should be my best bet? 5; I'm confuse about sealent and glaze. What is the difference between both. Should a use menzerna glaze, dodo juice lite lime prime, or some kind of sealant.???
A glaze goes on after polishing then I apply a wax and last a sealant; The sealant gives you the slick wet look. If your car does have a cerami-clear coat it'll usually say under the hood.. I almost have the entire Menzerna lineup; and I think if you just have 203+ P085RD it's very useful; and also get the Meguiars twins (M205/M105) ...
OK newbie, here we go. I am going to keep this simple for now, If you want to get more specific about things after reading this, feel free to ask. 1. Dodo is available through DodoUSA, Autogeek and another place in the US. My apologies, I can't remember who it is. Maybe someone else can chime in. Either way, layer Dodo waxes over a sealant as their stand alone durability is not the greatest. The exception is Supernatural. 2. Yes you can use the polishes designed for ceramic clears on regular clears. They do cut a bit faster but other than that should be OK. I only use the ones for ceramic finishes. 3. Any VW product will have standard base/clear paint. 4. If you want to keep it simple, Power Finish will work great. Cuts very well and finishes out more than good enough to go to your wax or sealant. If you want it REALLY shiny, follow up with PO85RD before your wax or sealant. 5. A glaze ( in its purest form) is meant to hide minor swirls and imperfections but has no protective ability. Sealants on the other hand cannot hide or fill but do provide protection. Typically you would polish or glaze the paint,( some people also glaze after polishing as well to add some depth and wetness to the finish) then apply the wax or sealant of your choice. Although there are some glazes with protective qualities and some sealants that fill, they are the exceptions to the rule so I always assume they don't. The proper sequence should be polish ( Menz ), cleanse the paint ( Dodo lime prime or lime prime lite) glaze if you like and then your wax or sealant. Hope this helps. It seems like a lot of work because, well, it is. But the results are always worth it.
1a; If i understand right, dodo wax isn't durable. about how long ?? 1b; what should be the best wax for a black car? aroud 60buck. 5a So a should use menzerna 203 menzerna po85rd dodo lite lime prime (or other? cleaner) Glaze (menzerna or another god one?) Wax them sealent? or sealent them wax? only one? about sealent, I know some peoble use jetseal. any good should I skip one step to make it easier but still got nice gloss.
1a. My experience , and from what others have said on the forums, is that the Dodos will last around 8 weeks, give or take. They do give a very nice finish so if you don't mind rewaxing regularly, they are worth it. 1b. before I answer this, i need to know how often you are willing to wax your car. 5a. I haven't used jetseal, but have not read anything bad about it so yes, it could be a good choice. If you use 203, you could skip the 85rd and have a very nice finish. In all honesty, you could bypass the paintwork cleanser and glaze as well and still have a very nice looking car. By doing all of the steps, you will be doing as much as you can to get a great finish. If you are more of a hobbyist ( wash and wax a couple times a year ) vs an enthusiast ( wax as often as you can spare an extra 60 minutes to put another coat of wax on ) , I would wash, clay, polish with 203 and apply LSP of your choice.
1a ok, nice to know 1b for the moment i'm not so sure but, something around every 6 to 8 week. For a black car I thinck those could be good Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax ~110 $can Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax ~60 $can Pinnacle Signature Series II Wax ~60 $can Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant V3.0 ~50 $can P21S 100% Carnauba Paste Wax 6.2 oz ~60 $can Cihemical Guys Pete's 53'- Black Pearl Signature Paste Wax {40 $can Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 (16oz) ~50 $can Presently a have meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax 5a My car is brand new, but have little surface scratch on it, so I thinck that 203 should be a little bit to agressive. does using only 85rd should be enough, them wax or sealent. And, I'm still not sure, About wax and sealent (shame) If i am right Wax only, give depth and little protection sealent only give less depth but more protection and using both, (in wich ordre) will give depth and protection? Thank a lot for your help. I don't want to do 12 ordres to get what i want, so I ask a lot of question!!!
If your car is new with light scratches due to washing, you could still use 203, but use it with a black pad which has no mechanical cut to it. Let the polish do all the work. This way, if you inflict any further damage to your paint you'll only have to pick up a few polishing pads because you'll already have the polish. I have Pinnacle Souveran and P21S carnauba ( blue lid, not the 100%) and both leave a very wet finish. The others listed I haven't tried yet. Megs NXT tech wax is actually a synthetic sealant. You will want to apply your sealant first, then the wax. I would put 2 coats of Megs NXT ( it goes on and off very easy-just let it dry) and follow up with your choice of waxes and reapply every 6 weeks. Twice a year, strip it all off and start again. The main reason for layering the two is that most waxes have limited durability, whereas sealants are usually good for 4 - 6 months, so even after the wax has worn off you will still have some protection. The sealant will give more sharpness and clarity where the wax will add depth.
Again! you suggest me to use 203 w/ black pads. But i also have a white f-150 1999 with a couple of good scratch. should I use sip or ip with a orange or white pad?
Always start with the least abrasive combo first and work your way up from there. If nothing else, you'll learn what certain combos are capable of.
I'm looking for an foam lance. that can fit on my canadian tire gaz pressure washer? I know that wax on wax off sell on, but i'm not sure aboute the fittement. Does eshine or auto werkes sell one model??
The one that waxonwaxoff sells is, I believe made by PA in Italy. If it is, its the best foaming lance available right now. I will be stocking these ( near future hopefully ) as its the one I use as well.
don't mean to thread jack but just curious...whats the difference between a glaze, sealant and wax...i read the thread and its still not 100% clear. after polishing apply glaze then sealant then wax?
A glaze does nothing more than fill in and hide imperfections not removed by polishing. Glazes have no corrective abilities or protective abilities and are typically applied after or instead of polishing. Sealants and waxes have protective qualities but typically no corrective or masking abilities. This may be over simplifying this but sealants are synthetic, give a brighter, sharper finish and typically have very good durability. Waxes are more natural ( carnauba wax ), give a deeper, wetter finish and typically don't give very good durability with the exception of Collinite 476 and a few high priced varieties. Your order of application is correct.
Nice to know....:thud:....cause I myself couldn't grasp the multi-layered items that would or could be applied. Something else learned today (or at least clarified)! Thanks.
