    Wipe-down after Polishing/ Compounding:
This allows you to inspect the surface to determine if the surface is defect free or if further work is required. When polishing or compounding to remove fine swirls or holograms, it's easy for residues to settle in the swirls, hiding the true paint finish. Wiping the finish with a Micro fibre cloth you may feel that the swirls have been removed, only to have them reappear when applying the final wax or sealant. After polishing a section, mist and wipe to fully remove residues and reveal the true paint finish.

a)Polymer sealants will not form a proper monocular bond with a paint surface if there are any oils present and it will affect durability.

b)Silicone will cause surface smearing and will affect durability

    Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)

[Chemical Formula: (CH3)2 CHOH, Proper Name: Isopropanol]
Isopropyl alcohol contains approx. 70% isopropyl alcohol, is a colourless liquid with a pleasant odour. It is highly flammable and is found in alcohol sponges, cleaning agents, and rubbing alcohol (although some rubbing alcohols contain ethanol and / or oil) and is a good disinfectant.

Used in various dilutions it is used for removing adhesive residue, as a solvent for petroleum type stains. Used after polishing to check the paint surface for any surface imperfections not removed by polishing. Fill a fine misting spray bottle with a 1:1 Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) / distilled water solution spray the paint surface, leave it to dwell for 30-45 seconds, agitate before wiping the paint surface with a clean, dry 100% cotton towel (DF Alpine™ DF Concours cotton microfiber towels | auto detailing products | water filters | glass and surface cleaners) Apply a surface protection after use.

With 70% strength isopropyl alcohol in order to obtain a 1:1 ratio (50/50 % mixture) use 2 parts alcohol to 1 part distilled water (See relevant sections for usage and dilution used.) After the paint surface has been subjected to a chemical cleaning its protective layer (s) have been removed and the paint surface left without protection, so it is very important that a wax or polymer protection be applied immediately.
Caution- Isopropyl alcohol burns with almost no visible flame, making it extremely dangerous; do not allow IPA to come in contact with your eyes. Best used in a ventilated area due to its volatility and negative impact on respiratory system

    Use Methodology
Fill a fine misting spray bottle with a 8:1 ratio of Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) / distilled water solution spray the paint surface, leave it to dwell for 30-45 seconds, agitate before wiping the paint surface with a clean, dry 100% cotton towel

    b) Menzerna Top Inspection (PP95) – use to inspect your work, use this water-based cleaner that removes dust left by compounding and any lubricating oils so you can see the real results of your work. There are no silicones or fillers, just gentle cleaning agents to uncover the real condition of your vehicle’s paint.

    c) Hi-Temp's Prep Wash - to prepare a paint surface for polishing, compounding, wax and / or polymer sealant application (especially if changing from a wax to a polymer product) this is a water-based paint cleaner designed to remove all traces of silicone, oil, and buffing residue from any exterior paint surface

    d) DuPont PrepSol II™ or Final-Klean - spray onto a 100% cotton or a micro fibre towel and clean the surface, DuPont now also sells the Sonatra Line, which are essentially wipes/towels, pre-moistened with either Prep-Sol or Final-Klean, ideal for all high tech wiping applications, excellent in use both wet and dry with high absorbent capacity - Cleaning cloths, Cleaning rags, Food wipes, J Cloth

    e) Prep-All is a very similar product to PrepSol and is more widely available

I mean to be talking about products that are paintwork "cleansers" and not paintwork "inspection." The products that say they remove oxidation and what not. Just wondering what most people (if anything) before putting on LSP.

For example putting on SV cleaner fluid before apply wax.

+1 because it smells great! I've used KAIO, DG 601, Dodo LPL and SV CF. SV CF is some thick stuff and it took me a little bit to get to the point where I wasn't using too much. Dodo LP/LPL and KAIO are identical in consistency but the nod goes to the Dodo.

Value wise, I would say the P21S. I have the Duragloss but haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

This duragloss 501 stuff is really starting to catch my eye. In the past I really liked XMT360 to pre-clean/seal but have been using klasse AIO and love it!

You could try the Werkstat Prime products as well. I little pricier than P21S, but work very well.
