Quick review of my newly acquired POS tool. The CG air speed dryer.

First off CG in general looses major points in the customer service department because their shipping takes a lifetime.

I bough the air dryer because it was small and from the description on their site it seemed to pack a big punch. I always wanted to air dry a car as best as possible before drying with WW's so this to me was a good option.

Anyway after one 1 use I am seriously dissapointed with the Air Dryer. Right outta the box the machine felt cheaply made and I knew it want not going to last long. The air flow is powerful but too narrow coming from the rubber pipe/tube sticking out from the machine. It simply blows water around the paint but not really aids in drying. Plus it being corded is annoying as well. Overall the air speed dryer is not an effiecent way to dry a car. I prefer my old sheeting method or for those that have one a true leaf blower.

I really think this thing is junk and felt I should let others know.

Yea, Sorry to hear this.. I happened to use my Vac-n-blo today to dry my vehicle and it did a good enough job. Of course it's corded. I'd think you can deal with that. I could test it against my leaf-blower, but the vac-n-blo does just fine for the mirror's, grill, little spot that hold water and if you have a good wax surface, it blows the water straight off. Actually think I dried it faster than with a waffle weave.

i personaly dont use my air speed dryer for "drying the car" the flooding methods works best for me

what the air speed dryer does do best is blowing out water in tight spots like mirrors, door handles etc ... but best of all it works great on after market multi piece wheels

sorry you are disapointed with the dryer

as for the tool's life span ... ive been using mine for over a year, no problems yet

thanks for an honest review. Yeah, I've heard you'd be better off getting a leaf blower from Home Depot or Lowes...
As far as their shipping, I think it did improve. First time I ordered XXX wax from them (3 years ago) it took almost 2 weeks to get it shipped...Second time I ordered (a few weeks ago) it took 2 days to arrive at my house...Much of improvement.

Yeah I think my cg blower sucks to. I just use it to get water out the cracks and dry off the engine for a very looong time.

I use my Ridgid and it works a treat. I like it better than a leafblower.

i love mine, i got mine from a different website for 9.99. no way did i ever think that thing was powerful enough to dry a car ha i bought it for engine drying and for stubborn crevices on cars that seems to always hold water. i like the idea of using them to dry aftermarket multi piece wheels. will have to give that a try!

I went to Ace hardware this afternoon and picked up an electric Toro blower rated at 160mph. Washed my car this afternoon and pretty much dried the entire thing without using a single MF. Worked 50x better than the AirSpeed:headbang:

Nice, the one I am going to review is 665 MPH and 8 HP. I used it on a car that's never been waxed and had gasoline poured on it and covered in salt, car wash etc. I dried it easily and quickly without any towels and no water spots :).

I use a Craftsmen 220mph blower without the extensions, so the air is fast, and wide spread. Works really well.. plus without the plastic extension on the end, it's easy to move around the car, only being about a foot long, as opposed to 2-3' long ;)
