How often do you wash?

How often do you guys wash your cars (when the weather is not an issue)? How often do you qd? For two years I've been washing my car every weekend and usually qd after I dry. Lately, I've been thinking of cutting down to every other week as this would cut down on touching the paint, hence potentially decreasing marring over time. :shead:

 

In the winter every weekend. In the summer its usually every other weekend. QD every time I wash.

 

Once a week or so, I dont QD. Maybe a spray wax or sealant every now and then.

 

In the summer...once or twice a week. In the winter I just play it by ear depending on how dirty the car is.

 

I've been doing it once every 1-2 weeks with a full strip/rewax every month. Its been my regimen for my car for quite some time. I don't think I'll finish all my wax by 2020! :thud:

 

My vehicles get a wash every week and usually get toped of with Vintage once or twice a month.

Even though the temperature maybe freezing outside, I got a big heater and lots of ONR to keep me from washing my vehicles.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of the weekly washes also, especially the SUV. :thud:

 

I do once a week washes. If I'm really tired i sometimes skip it, but hardly. I just dont like driving a dirty car.

 

That's the thing, I really don't like driving a dirty car either. I now have the wifey fully trained on the right ways of washing and drying the car, so I do one side and she takes care of the other. My main reason for thinking about cutting down to every other week is to touch the paint less to potentially diminish marring over time.

 

Your logic is probably correct...the less contact the better...however i take on the side of washing religiously 1 time a week...no matter what. I cant stand it dirty

 

The way I look at it, washing a cleaner car more often with the right techniques will probably marr less than washing a filthy car less often, more dirt, more possible marring.

 

Hmm!:shead: Darn, that's an excellent point. Now that I think about it, I do have to give it more than one pass whenever I let it go for more than one weekend, so it's like washing it more than once. :doh:

I play it by weather and by how busy I may be. However, I'd like to break into using performing ONR washes as weekly/bi-weekly maintenance, with a power washer pre-rinse if need be.

In the summer the cars don't get too dirty, almost seems like a waste to waste a lot of water and soap on some light surface film.... Just me, and I'm learning
