I have an older Compaq PC with XP (2005) and I was considering getting a registry cleaner/fix-it tool. There are dozens on the market and I would like to know if anyone has one that really works. Any feedback is appreciated. :crash:
I've been using Tune Up Utilities 2008. Cleans the registry and a whole other bunch of nice things...
I've used and recommended CCleaner for a long time - ever since it was called Crap Cleaner. It does registry cleaning as well as junk file cleanup, etc. CCleaner - Home I think you'll like it.
+2 on CCleaner; I've been using it for more than 2 years now I think. Just make sure to save a copy of the registries you delete!! Also, read what your "cleaning" because sometimes it will disable things like mouse gestures, IE settings and other stuff that you actually DO want.
+ 4. Great program. Good advice. Just save the backup when it ask you to and if you have any issues, you can just click on it and it will reinstall the deleted entries.
ccleaner +5, but if your computer is at a point where you would need it might as well just format it and start over
